Re: Removing that wonderful YH carb
many of the fancy options mentioned above just wont work on the YH due to the shape of the body of the carb a cut down spanner works really well, ive have the carb on and off mine about 20 times in the last six months, and my little cut down has worked a treat its the nut that's nearest the fire wal...

Re: Removing that wonderful YH carb
I cut a ring spanner down so its only about 2" long. works a treat - the spanner has to be one with a thin profile ring shape
and its certainly had some use in the last 6 months!!

Re: First time corvair owner needing complete floor pan
just my 2p's worth (or ten cents for you lot!) this car is shagged, I bet the bulkhead has gone in it as well, but your problems with the floors is that it looks as if the rot extends under the rear seat base, there are no panels for this area and its an utter swine to remake - some very complicated...

Re: 1964 500 coupe - rusting in the u.k
I put the clarks pans in the front of my new car, and its virtually impossible to see the welds, they go in really nice if you trim them down and with a bit of car a nice job can be done - obviously in the UK we cannot get away with pop rivits, screws etc, they all have to be welded in a correct fas...

Re: 1964 500 coupe - rusting in the u.k
Very impressive work so far! Hows the build coming along? slowly all the floor & bulkhead is done, all the suspension is done, most of it is refitted, it will probably be back on its wheels in a month or so still needs all the repair work around the pillers - though i have bought some parts fro...

Re: Introduction, Hello! 1964 Monza
the front frame comes out dead easy, ive just had all mine out and in bits to repaint and recon it all the only special tool I needed was a length of threaded bar to be able to wind the bottom arm and the coil spring back into place to get the bolt back in once the frame was built back up it was lit...

Re: build a corvair racer
willdeane you really need to decide at what level you wish to race a EM corvair in the UK I'm not sure how much you know about the racing over here, but I will try and give a brief overview (it can get very complicated) basically there are three ways to circuit race a car 1) appendix k - this is the...

Re: 64 or earlier corvair race car.
it did sell for a lot, but for a good reason its built to a high spec and because its unusual (over here) it will get, almost, automatic entry into some events that are invitation only (i.e like the goodwood revival) so, for a owner who wants to be seen, and wants to mix in the top circle of histori...

Re: 1962 headlamp switch wires
brad I think you where one wire out from memory, but it was a great start, with your drawing and the wiring diagram I got it sussed I did have a bit of struggle as the dome light didn't work, I suddenly thought 'aha' and grounded the switch out! its all fitted now, so I cannot confirm the wires as i...

Re: 1962 headlamp switch wires
great success I now have a working switch that does everything its meant to. turns out some of my electrical issues where caused by the previous owner fitting a double pole single filament 28 volt bulb in one of the rear stop/tail lamps..... any wonder that didn't work! just got the flashers / brake...
