If the lifters are mushroomed then the case will have to be split and the cam inspected also. Next week we shall know!

Thanks for the input. I bought a new Clarks switch today and will hold on to my defective one to see if I can use a adapter?? If it works out, I will post.

Thanks for your response! Did you write down any info from your switches?? The only info I can see is the partial number between terminals. The PO cut off the daul plug for the round terminals and attached individual spade type connectors.

Crank key indexing
I have a late original 8409 crankshaft that the cam drive gear is positioned retarded a huge amount. The shaft key way was cut at 60 degrees retarded. Normally the #1 crank pin the balancer key way and gear key way all line up. Has anyone ever seen this happen on a stock crank??

Engine is still in the body. I will start taking it out in the next few weeks. I will inspect transmission and motor mount after power train in on my work table. I know something is worn out or miss aligned due to the shifting tube almost hanging below the tunnel. Thanks for you input

Thanks for your reply and the link to your Corsa’s repairs. I will continue to dismantle
the power train and will check out the transmission mounts and shifter rod when they are out of the car.
