Re: Gas in oil
the stock pumps can fail internally and dump fuel into the engine as well. The poster above who stated the engine filled up when the car was jacked up in the front had a carb problem that had nothing to do with the fuel pump. If the floats are not set right fuel will drain into the engine through t...

Re: Gas in oil
I had this happen to me twice on cars with electric fuel pumps. The first time I lost the engine due to hydraulics caused by gas in the cylinders. The second time I was working on the front end with the front of the car jacked up and gas by passed through the needle in the carb. I have since put on ...

1966 Column wiring help
I am installing an Ididit tilt steering column in the V8 and I would like to splice in the stock connectors(that are part of the turn signal) to plug into the main wiring harness. On the Ididit it lists the following: black=horn relay lite blue= left front turn signal royal blue=right front turn sig...

1965 Corsa Exterior Paint
My Corsa was repainted an ugly gold and I would like to bring it back close to original which was blue. The ID paint code is D-D and I was wondering if there is a paint I could ask for to get somewhat close.
Thank you
Jeff

Re: Our first Corvair - 65 Corsa project
Be careful not to drop anything down the open intake or the open carbs. It would be safer to cover those openings with tape or a towel. I once had a small screw drop down the secondary carb and it took out that cylinder.

Re: Fuel controller
This device only controls the electric fuel pump, it has nothing to do with the pump pressure.Jim in Wis. wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2018 6:53 am Do you know what pressure it puts out? On some old cars - like old Fords with Stromberg carbs - if the pressure is a little too high it overpowers the needle and seat.

Fuel controller
I finally installed a fuel controller on my electric fuel pump. It works off the tach coil signal. So if your engine stops with the key on, the pump also stops. When you first turn on the key, the fuel pump primes for 3 seconds then shuts off until a tach signal is recognized. Easy to install and ve...

Re: Strange oil leak
Auto supply stores sell a dye that can be added to the oil and with a UV light you can trace an oil leak. They sell the whole kit (dye, light, tinted glasses) for under $20.

Re: Dolly towing a Corvair
I am planning on towing a Crown conversion this weekend using a U Haul trailer. I have used a U Haul trailer before on a LM putting the car straight up and towing it from Kingman to So. Ca. If you go with a U Haul trailer. tell them you are towing a early model Camaro. A trailer is only slightly mor...
