Re: Engine cover insulation

I like that radio idea..."breaker 1-9 Miss Salley...pass the cheeto's...over - rover"

(ok...have to work on that)

Re: Engine cover insulation

Thanks for the reply! I have added sound deadening insulation behind and under the back seat and I think the engine noise level is somewhat reduced from that. The wife says it is still a bit loud ugh. I think you are correct that the next step is a better quieter muffler as well. appreciate the help...

Re: Engine cover insulation

Sure, I agree it is likely to offer some sound deadening...am surprised that the insulation panel shipping weight is 38 lbs. (shipping costs are nearly as much as the panel!). So I am just trying to weight the cost versus reward type thing. It is a fun driver, not a nut and bolt correct code number ...

Engine cover insulation

I do not have any insulation on the inside of my engine cover, and am wondering how effective this is to reduce engine noise? Any comments are appreciated!

Re: Rocker failure...

I have had three original rockers fail so far, identical to the failure pictured. Picture doesn't look like an original rocker...IMHO, did OEM pivot balls have slots for lube? I have an Isky 260 cam, not sure if that is the smoking gun here I reloaded with new set from Clarks so will see what happen...

The Stinger distributor made an incredible improvement in my overall performance and drivability.
Highly recommend the switch.

Re: rear wheel bearing spacer

Good catch Marty. Well to be honest, I was doing the math, getting kinda chicken of taking too much off the original shim, and rationalized sneak up on grinding it -so I left it a little thicker at .125. Thinking I can always take more off if it is still a little loose, and if I took too much off......

Re: rear wheel bearing spacer

Thanks for the great info guys! I surface ground the existing spacer taking stock off both sides, to a very parallel .125" and reassembled the spindle assembly. Previously with the car up in the air, you could grab the tire at 12-6 o'clock and feel a noticeable movement in the spindle. Now afte...

rear wheel bearing spacer

I am replacing the rear wheel bearings and I am trying to understand the shim process to remove shaft endplay. (1966 Monza) So I disassembled the spindle, and replaced both the inner/outer wheel bearings/ races, etc. after complete spindle reassembly I installed the spindle back into the car. I now ...

Removing Wiper arms

What is the trick or special tool needed to remove the complete wiper arm off of the spline shaft? I am pulling what little hair I have left off trying to figure this out!
Thanks guys..

Dual Master Cylinder

Can I retrofit a '67 dual master cylinder into a '66 body that has the single reservoir master cylinder? I can do the bake line plumbing ... but will the master cylinder be a bolt on thing, will the old brake pedal connect and work...or is it more involved?

Thanks!
