Re: Restoration order, which way would you go?

Heck, if I was as far ahead as you seem to be, I'd be all over the car. But then again, I have a touch of ADD, so . ...

Re: Thunderbearr's 66 Monza
Thanks for all the tips on getting this thing off. :)-D So far (aside from ripping out the package area crap) this has been the easiest chore to date. Kudos to you all and to Clark's for that awesome tool! How bad was the HB ? this came off when I removed the fan belt. Tell me again how this car all...

Re: Thunderbearr's 66 Monza Rat Rod build
In the process of removing the H B. Outer ring has already come off with ridiculous ease (you know, because it's loose). Oil filter and fan belt are out of the way. Now onto the task of loosening/removing that main bolt.
Will post updates as I go.

Re: Thunderbearr's 66 Monza Rat Rod build
I'm going to close my eyes and hope it goes away. LOL Seriously, I have a friend with a sheet-metal shop and we've been studying how to handle it. One person asked me if the car had been stored upside-down in a creek for that area to be so awful. I'll be addressing that area and others once I make s...

Re: Thunderbearr's 66 Monza Rat Rod build
Thanks! Gotta find one for my B&D grinder. :tu: As a person who is currently in the second 1/2 of stripping my LM Corvair to metal, I would strongly suggest the use of one of these on a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder. It removes everything but steel and does it fast enough it is like wiping it off... ...

Re: Thunderbearr's 66 Monza Rat Rod build
No better way to become intimate with the workings of a car than to do everything by hand.
Of course, an orbital sander does, too. :D

Re: Thunderbearr's 66 Monza Rat Rod build
While waiting for the harmonic balancer to arrive, I wanted to keep busy with some minor body stuff. I got a 400 grit wet-dry double-sided sanding pad and turned the hose on a gentle stream. After about twenty minutes. This: https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/11924558_1020518...
