Rear hubs on 66 Monza

Some time back I posted a question regarding my rear brake cylinders when I was having trouble replacing them. I watched a video from Dave Motorhead and followed it not realizing that I did not have to pull the yokes to remove the hubs in order to get at the brake cylinder. Now after reading some po...

Corvair Emblem on 66 Monza

My 66 Monza had a "Corvair" emblem just to the left of the driver side headlight bezel. When I sanded down the trunk lid prior to refinishing I also found two holes(bondod over) for another emblem close to the leading edge of the trunk, also has access holes on the bottom side of the lid. Did the mo...

Re: Tie rod ends

Thank you, I had it correct and will look for the shank length difference to confirm also. So happy to have everyone's help when I post questions.
Cheers. Robbie

Tie rod ends

I purchased new tie rod end from Clarks and rebuilt my steering linkage last winter, before I finally install them is it possible to identify the inner from the outer. I think that the left hand thread was the inner but would like to know for sure prior to bolting it down.
Thanks

Re: Wild Goosechase: Control Rod Nuts

I experienced a similar problem with the control arm threads. I had the threads chased at a machine shop only to find I couldn't achieve torque. I had the same machine shop cut down a 3/4" rod and cut new threads. I then cut off 5" of the rod and matched it to the new piece. I drilled a hole in eith...

Thanks Ted, I supposed that would be the answer but I wanted to have a faint glimmer of hope.

Re: 1965-1969 Corvair Front Door Window Mechanism Details

I can place the glass in the channel without any problem without the rubber strip in the channel, I am sure it will be a bit more difficult with the strip in the channel but I am going to give it a go and I will let you know if it it works for me.
Thanks for the reply.

Re: 1965-1969 Corvair Front Door Window Mechanism Details

I searched the forum posts and found yours, what a great help it was when I re-assembled my window. I am intending to get everything lined up with the glass in the channel but not fixed in the channel with the rubber and once it is all running smoothly drop the glass into the channel from the top. D...

I managed to get the vent window out and in though I was still not happy with the side window motion, it would stick and I would have to push or pull on the glass to get it over the hump. I this rail supposed to be curved in this manner?

Re: Vent windows 66 Monza

Do I have to remove the adjusting bolt on the door jamb? I would hate to have to try and reinstall it but that is where it seems to be sticking as I pull it up. I am a bit tentative to force it as I do not want to break anything.

Re: Vent windows 66 Monza

Does it matter if the window is up or down, the door is laying flat on my bench, I am thinking that the window needs to be open if I have to get my hands in there.
Thanks for replying.

Re: Vent windows 66 Monza

I purchased a window and door seal kit from Clarks, comes with the vent window seals. Mine are not too bad but I have the doors off and my question is do I have to remove the vent window from the car to change the rubbers? I would think so. How much trouble am I getting myself into or is this a pret...

Re: Rear Brake Cylinders

My thanks, your comments helped me out and I appreciate the time you took to share your knowledge. I ended up building a puller and pulling the yokes. Was not too bad and now I can clean up the parts and put it all back together. At this stage can I repack the bearings without pulling everything apa...
