Thanks. Yes the wheels are the same ones. Painted with black Imron. The painter said....I hope you like shiny because it looks like black chrome. The center caps are new from Original parts group, ordered for an EL Camino.

I to had no idea what a corvair was until my father expected me to work on his new toy one afternoon, just as I graduated tech school. (specializing in GM ..haha). Now I ve come to see what he saw in them.

I thought about buying a second cowl piece, welding in some metal , "shaving it". Keeping my original to swap back on, along with wiper transmission for a longer trip or possible rain.

Wanting to keep to a distributor for sure, points and coil for now. From what I have read here the CB Black box would be a good choice. It started out I found the vacuum retard canister bad. Had one been readily available, I probably would have replaced only that and been done with it. Trying to kee...

I would use a non hardening , anaerobic sealer . Permatex 51817 gasket maker. Its red and sticky.

H design motors and I have a new found relationship. I do however get to drive the Yukon on weekends.

State Farm here also. Dropped my 2004 Pontiac Van and insured Corvair for same price, etc in place of it.. I threw out 4k as a value, they insured w/o photos. Agent said " If you need more we'll come out and take photos. "
