Re: 15 inch wheels

I replaced the tyres on the front for tyres in the size 195\70\14 and it fits perfectly . on the back the 205\75\14 but for a better look I want to change it for tires in the size 195\75\14 ( a little bit higher) . It looks more like a tractor with these tires ::-): voorkant.jpg IMG_20201220_155150....

Re: 15 inch wheels

I've measured up the tolerance of the tire according to the fender, it's about 1 cm so i think that a tire in the size 205\70\14 should fit.
A "70" tire is 1 cm lower so that should work. and i can keek the same wide size of the tire. (now hoping that it works out ::-):)

Re: heating problems

thanks for the warning, but i've wrapped the fuel lines with a rubber hose to prevent that the fuel lines are heating up.

I'm not using the original fuel pump. I mounted a electric feul pump, and as far as I know it does'nt have a retourline

Re: heating problems

It's been a while that I've been on the forum, busy with other things. Still the problem with vapor lock hasn't been solved. But I've been thinking that it might be a electric problem ? I've noticed today that the coil becomes very hot, so I was thinking that there is some malfunction in the electri...

Re: heating problems

Hi bbodie52

The plastic insulators between the carburetors and cylinders are installed, but they might be damaged and cost a vacuum leak (I don't know, how old they are) It's probably the best to replace them for a new set just to be sure. And of course a isolation plate to the engine hood

Re: heating problems

A update for the heating problems engine. The thermostat doors on both sides are open, the (electric) fuel pump has been replaced near the gas tank, all seals are new so the cool air can't escape thru holes. the heating of the engine is not the problem , it's getting hot (especially with the tempera...

Re: heating problems

Hi Steve57, I Just driven the corvair for a few kilometers, and Ijust find out that the left door doesn't open properly. I think that the connecting rod of the thermostat has come loose. I think it's best to fix the outlet door to make sure it does'nt close. (maybe that will work to fix the vapor lo...
