Doing a little more reasearch and found that a Clarks pressure retard unit requires 18 degrees I'll look at my set up again tomorrow bump it up a little and report back.

I forgot to add that it has Pertronix and the idle is at 750 rpm.

Thank you all for the information, I checked my distributor and the number is Delco Remy 1110290 2E5 according to the chart it's the right one any ideas why the timing is set to 12 degrees? The pressure retard has the correct turbo nipple how do I test the pressure retard unit? If I putt around town...

Driving my EM turbo yesterday I could hear slight detonation so I let up. I decided to look at the timing and read in the maintenance manual that it should be at 24 degrees. 1964 engine ID

I am interested in a 1964 Corvair (online). The engine of the car (see picture below) has me puzzled the air cleaner seems to be 63 and it has a generator the cooling fan and harmonic balancer looks like a 64 can anyone confirm if this is a 63 or 64 engine.

Just bought these Milestar 175/80 R13 Touring SE $54.00 each from Discount tire. The salesman said they were distributed by Coker tire they ride good and look good, let me know if you want close ups of the sidewall and tread pattern.
