Re: What would you pay?
You've been searching for close to 7 years?!! 😆 off and on, yes. I am into other stuff so the vair would be part of a group of cars, hence nothing is a huge priority for me. and of course life has gotten in the way a few times. as far as the one I am looking at, was not running when I viewed it and...

What would you pay?
I have the opportunity to buy a 66 corsa htp with orig drivetrain. non-turbo. Mostly rust free with no serious unibody issues. Could use a resto but technically is driveable as is. no options listed on the body tag.
Any ballpark ideas on what a good price would be?

harmonic balancer replacement
Can anyone tell me what the harmonic balancer replacement consists of on a vair? Looked at one last night but did not make a deal as it has a broken balancer and there was no way to take the car for a ride or even know if the engine is good. If I was able to do that and it ran good i would have trie...

What do you mean by 'push'?joelsplace wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 9:57 am The LM tends to push in tight low speed corners more than the EM and I hate push.
I will have to find one of each close by to drive before I make my decision. Nothing closer than 90 minutes away right now.

While we are on the subject, who here currently owns or has owned both EM and LM vairs? Interested in hearing the differences in handling and which you prefer.

Re: Picking up a 66 Corsa Convertible on Friday
Nice looking car. I have been looking for a '66 Corsa or later monza with factory 140-4 but no luck. Nothing close enough for me to look at/drive myself before buying. Either junk or pristine, neither of which I want.

Production Option Info Wanted
Does anyone know if there are production numbers available for how many were built with specific engines or transmissions by year and/or body style? I am specifically looking for second gen data. Any other option info available?

Re: 1969 Corvair VIN production Q
thank you guys.........steve, i get what the 02a means but what does the g mean?
Considering buying it, it's a Monza rag, 140/4 spd ragtop. I'd be having a serious conversation with the seller if the darn thing wasn't green.

1969 Corvair VIN production Q
Is anyone aware of a way to estimate the production date/month using the last 6 of the VIN for 1969? Last 6 is 703641. I do not have the body tag info.

that is a nice pic cnicol!
Corsa Bill, I live in South Central PA.........and as usual, every time I find a nice car it's on the other side of the country! There is a nice 66 corsa non-turbo rag abt 2 hrs east of me but it's mint and $23,500.

Production of 140 HP Corvairs after 1966
Hello, In my standard catalog of american cars it says the 140-4 carb engine was available as an option for the 67-69 model years; however, I have never seen one originally made that way. Is anyone aware if this is true, and, if so, how many may have been made like that? Interested in a LM rag, righ...
