Re: disc brake conversion

I have a Lakewood that had been converted to use the 77 Dodge Colt disc brakes. Clark's has them as a kit.

Re: RE: Re: Corvair Mechanic in San Diego

I would suggest contacting (and possibly joining) the San Diego Corvair Club. They might be able to provide you with local advice and references to help you get your Corvair repaired... http://www.corvair.org/chapters/corvanatics/files/global/corsa.gif CORSA Chapter Locator - San Diego Corvair Club...

Re: 1961 Lakewood tag

That's what threw me - the 1962 Acc codes have "B" as Air Conditioning. This is a 1961 700 Lakewood PG wagon and A/C was not available. Also, "E" is bucket seats on 1962 4-door models, and this is bench seats, with folding rear seat. I haven't found a good 1961 Acc Code chart any...

Cool tools are Great !

I noticed you are repairing the door release unit as an illustration of the metal clamp. Do you braze it back together, or just nut and bolt ??

Re: Lakewood/Monza engine compartment parts details

:dontknow: I found that Section 1 has all the dimensions and clearances, but no part #'s or descriptions, and not listed in the GM parts for the station wagon.

Re: Lakewood/Monza engine compartment parts details

Thanks, appreciate the info. I found some of the FC illustrations in the GM Parts Catalog, dated 1970, but nothing on the Lakewood/Monza Wagon for the Engine and heater motor cover area, or in the Corvair Supplement.

Lakewood/Monza engine compartment parts details

I have a 1962 Monza Wagon. I have been trying to find engine compartment parts descriptions and details, like the pad and rubber trim around the heater cover lid. Clark's have the engine cover parts, but even the GM parts book doesn't seem to show any details of the engine compartment. Anyone have a...

Re: to tow or not to tow

U-Haul will give you grief if you tell them it is a Corvair. Company Policy I was told. Chevy II, etc no problem.

I towed the Wagon 120 miles with a Ford F-250 - no swaying or unbalance.

Good luck
