Re: Issue on hills when hot

Did you try looking under top shroud for debris blocking airflow thru fins? Is lower thermostat controlled doors opening properly?

Re: Rear Stabilizing Rods

Those rear stabilizer rods are slotted so they can move in or out out depending on toe-in alignment of the trailing arm. Refer to assembly manual for your year of Corvair.

Re: Reducing the gap, stock cooling fan

Thanks for comments, Kevin Nash! The fan modification seems to work quite well. Unintended consequence, until the lower shroud doors open, pushing enough air past the closed heater box flap like the fan was on low speed. Using an infrared thermometer shows over 100 degrees at the heater outlet under...

Re: Reducing the gap, stock cooling fan

Yeah, what is the stock gap? Did you take a before temp. at specific conditions? Stock gap as explained by Kevin Nash. He’s done the testing, I believe him. I do not have a head temperature gauge, so no before readings Re: cooling fan Posted by: 63turbo () Date: June 20, 2023 01:45PM So, how many o...

Reducing the gap, stock cooling fan

In a recent discussion on the other forum about cooling fans, Kevin Nash made some suggestions on how to improve the stock cooling fan performance by reducing the gap to about 1/16 of an inch between fan and top cover. A locking latch for engine deck lid

I wanted a lock for the engine deck lid that did not require a key. This is what I came up with. Latch and modified striker tube salvaged from 1965 Cadillac. 144 inch cable, Dorman part # 915-706. A few springs. Rest of parts created from stuff on hand. IMG_0152.jpeg IMG_0154.jpeg IMG_0150.jpeg IMG_...
