Re: Control Arm End Cap Bolt torque

Torque spec in section three for cross shaft bolts , listed as 35 to 40 foot pounds, is to much for those bolts . They’re either 1/4 or 5/16 in bolts, torque should be less than half that amount, imho.

Re: heating problems

You are using a vented gas cap? A non vented cap may be causing fuel starvation.

I’ll give you a thumbs up. Showed it to the wife, she says it would be cute for me 😀.
Some though will find it to be morbid.

Those look good. Think I will eventually go this route as the rubber bushings I installed in my original struts are already failing.

Re: Important ashtray questions

Looks like you’re missing the top piece of the valence as you call it. Basically a piece of tubing covered with vinyl and stapled to the top.

Pull the carpet down below the vent to expose two screws, two more at the top where cable is, one each side.

Re: Front end clunking

Westds1 was talking about the clamp at the end of the stabilizer bar, it is as he described, fits into a slot at one end secured with a bolt at other. Also check your lower shock bolts for proper torque. If loose than can cause clunking.

Re: 65 Monza 4 spd Shifter Linkage Issues

You should a least jack the car up and inspect the shifter and clutch linkage. You may have to remove the tunnel pan.Post some pictures if anything looks out of place.
But as Joel said , likely internal.

A photo of your existing pump would be helpful in identifying what you have.

I only meant the electric pump itself, not the whole thing. As far as reducing voltage? :dontknow:

Re: Buick fuel pump into a Corvair?

I would think you could replace that high pressure fuel pump with one from the 1982 Corvette, it only put out about 15psi.
Should be much easier to regulate to the required Corvair pressure range.
