'65 Monza will not restart once engine is hot
I've been having this problem just this year with my '65 Monza purchased in '14. I had the car tuned up this past summer, a new battery put in, and with a cold engine, it starts up immediately and the car runs smoothly. But after I've driven for a brief while and the engine heats up (and it heats up...

Re: Engine cooling tubes?
I really appreciate all the helpful responses here! Yeah, my usual mechanic is new to Corvairs alright (although he is perfect when my Prius has a problem). My other guy is a Saab specialist and did a nice job tuning up the Monza recently…I’ll show him the heater tubes in Clark’s, and share all of t...

Engine cooling tubes?
Had my ’65 Monza in for inspection recently. Over wintering question - synchro wear
When over wintering, I've read that it is best to leave the car in Reverse for manual transmission, and in Park for automatic; I understand this is to avoid synchro wear. My '65 Monza is 2 speed powerglide, with no "Park", only Neutral. I assume leaving it Neutral will have the same effect...

Re: My new 1965 Corvair Monza
Thanks very much for the welcome and helpful information and links! I'm a bit swamped this week but wanted to dash out the following.... A bit more about me—the Corvair is only the 3rd car I’ve ever owned, and my hands on repair abilities are very limited at this time. I can change a tire, check and...

My new 1965 Corvair Monza
Bought a ’65 Monza convertible in August, my first Corvair. It's a beauty--black with white canvas top, red interior. It appears to be in wonderful condition, with no rust that I can see anywhere. One of the previous owners kept the car in a mold-free garage for 30+ years, so I am told. The engine w...
