Carpet installation
I'm putting new carpet in my car / I always seem to have a problem cutting out the holes for the seat bolts, seat belt bolts, etc. I end up hacking at the carpet with a xacto knife - and - the result is usually pretty ugly. So - any suggestions on how to measure, cut and fit these holes? I'm sure ...

Any ideas as to tossed belts?
A couple weeks ago I tossed my first belt. It was on a surface street so I was able to pull over, put it back on, and continue. I've since put a new OTTO belt on and things have been fine. What I'm finding now however is that my "Corvair driving experience" has been severely degraded because I'm ...

Re: Listen to that Turbo whine!
I :goodpost: Correct, 180 "cold side", 150 "hot" side. As stated, spools up earlier. Also, added an autometer air to fuel ratio meter and am in the middle of playing with the metering rods .. the R1/r2/R32 Blackhawk engineering rods that Clarke's sells. Seems for me the r2 is the best fit.

Re: Cibie Headlights
I agree w/ '66vairguy' - run a cable from the back to the front using a large gauge wire - then use a harness to connect. I used the following harness as it allowed my "stock" harness to remain un-altered in case I wanted to set it back to stock. works great, and it was only a saturday morning worth ...

Thanks '66' - already ordered two "Otto" belts from Clark's. Too bad they're on the "other coast"

Thanks Danny, sounds like good advice. I also see many post saying spray the belt with silicon.

Re: Floppy belt.
Thanks Brad / I probably should have mentioned it's a '65 Corsa Turbo. May have been my own doing as I was trying to see how much boost I could get out of the turbo - and - had to back off quickly a couple of times as I heard detonation. I plan on retarding the timing a little tomorrow to see if ...

Floppy belt.
Well, I guess I'm not immune - out for a test drive when I suddenly hear a whining sound like a spooling turbo. Was on freeway and really couldn't stop, wasn't too worried as fan idiot light remained off and temp was normal. Thought perhaps turbo was having an issue, but back in garage saw the belt ...
