Those that go around the jugs NEED to be there to force more air across the heads - where most of the cooling is needed... These are difficult to install after the push rod tubes! There are ways that involve cutting...

Each plant starts the new model year with a "sequence number", typically 100,001 which becomes the last 6 digits of the VIN - so from the VIN standpoint - yes the sequence number is repeated...
