Re: electrical issues
As a reference, the following identifies the wiring in the two, half-moon connectors at the base of the column going to and returning from the turn signal switch... Helpful to diagnose any running, parking, stop or turn issues. Front park lamps go through the turn switch - with park lamps on and no ...

Re: Considering purchasing a 66 Corvair Corsa Convertable
The good: Remote control mirror, telescoping column, AM/FM radio, and a 66 convertible Corsa (one of ~3142 built)... The things that make me uneasy: as some noted on other posts - missing exterior trim "Corsa" on fender, and Corsa "C" logo on quarters, breather on oil filler cap,...

Re: Door Hinge & Bushing Repair
x2 on the 'nice job'...
Your hinges look like steel, is your car a 67,8 or 9? I wonder if the 'early' 65-66 would use the same hardware - I know the hinges are aluminum...
Something to think about! How did it effect your door closing/opening efforts?
Thanks...

Re: EM Front suspension rebuild
Brake reaction rods to LCA looks good (all of it looks good!). The bushing at the brake reaction rod to the cross member look different than the ones I used (see below) Capture1.JPG Cannot see, but you also have a large nut, washer and bushing on the front side of the cross member also... Right? Lik...

Re: EM Front suspension rebuild
Lowers different on my Late Model - at least due to attachment point for sway bar. If not for the sway bar, not sure if yours would be the same... The way 4 holes are drilled to accept the brake reaction rods, it seems they were intended to be the same part for both sides.. Good Luck... Capture.JPG

Re: EM Front suspension rebuild
yes, there is a driver's and passenger's side - and the "pins" also have an orentation... I have not done an early, but, here is my photos as I marked before dis-assembly of mine. Maybe it will help? I put one dot with a center punch on the front of the Driver's arm and Pin - Two on the pa...

Re: Gunked up oil
On your web site, you comment that it may have gotten hot or over heated... What you are doing to clean out the pan is good, but, with it being parked for this period, I'd suggest you take the upper fan shroud off and assure the fins are not clogged. Do this after you close up the pan, but before yo...

Re: OEM Radio connection
The 3-way connector should have two wires for the speaker, and the third open spade terminal is the power from the fuse block... The radio chassis provides ground to the IP... The following from the '65 assembly manual... I don't know the impedance... Good Luck with your project. radio wiring.JPG

Re: New-to-me 66 Corsa!
Over the last couple of weeks I finished with the Harmonic balancer installation and built my own version of a “Finch Cart” for the powerpack and then turned my attention to the trans… Cleaned it up, primed and painted… Then I replaced all the gaskets and seals to dry it up… 20160118_103716.jpg 2016...

Re: EM Front suspension rebuild
Man, I think you are close! I only worked from the top side... I'd suggest you get a larger drill (3/8"?) and 'countersink' at the rivet head locations.. All of a sudden the remaining rivet head "washer" will pop off and you can move to the next... Then support the ball joint below th...

Re: EM Front suspension rebuild
If you have the heads removed, and you can't push the rivets through, maybe turn over and heat the arm and knock the ball joint off of the arm and rivets. then you could try to loosen the rivet from the arm alone? I don't recall having much issue after the rivet head was removed... Good Luck! When y...
