63 spyder loss of power, running hot
After 5 or 6 good rides this Spring with no problems at all, on a recent drive the car kept stalling at idle at traffic light. It started right back up each time, but I thought I noticed a little loss in power too. Drove home and before next ride, I set the idle just so it wouldn't stall, but the lo...

Re: Tunes in a Vair Convert.
I have a '63 convertible, so I feel your pain. This may not be what you're looking for, but I use a small bluetooth speaker and pair it with my iPhone to listen to whatever. I bought this speaker on amazon, and while not great, it is loud enough to hear for most driving conditions: https://www.amazo...

convertible roof repair suggestion?
63 Spyder with white, or white-ish, convertible top. The top was relatively new when I bought this car in 1987. Now less flexible and graying (aren't we all), I put a 2" tear in the top white canvas. It's not a huge deal since I put the top down and leave it down May - October, and drive it dur...

Re: cabin fresh air vent early model
Good afternoon I am looking for a article that I saw on here on how to repair / fix a sticking fresh air vent on an early model. My driver side is sticking and I am trying repair it versus replacing it if possible. Hi, I can't help with locating that article, but I recently had the same problem on ...

Re: fuel pump leaking
thanks for the info and suggestions. I tried first the most simple solution, tightening up the cover screws. They didn't seem loose, but I tightened each of them1/8 turn or less. Started the car up, and surprise...no leaks! :tu: Hope it holds out, and I'll be watching it closely. really appreciate t...

fuel pump leaking
1963 Sypder Today I started up the car as usual, about once a week in these winter months. Started on first try, as always, and everything seemed fine. I let it sit for a few minutes and started doing something else, and then I noticed a puddle of liquid under the car (turned out to be gas). Opened ...

Re: interior courtesy light, 63 spyder convertible
Turns out the contact in the bottom of the socket wasn't seated properly, so when I put the bulb in it kinda folded over and touched the side contact, thus why the fuse blew. Once corrected, it works fine. So now both courtesy lights work. Also, the bulbs i got from Clark's (turn out to be Wagner 89...

Re: interior courtesy light, 63 spyder convertible
Just a quick update on these light projects. I installed the new glove box light kit (harness, wire, bulb, switch) from Clark's and it works great. It is nice being able to not fumble around for the garage door opener in the dark. The courtesy lights is a good news\bad news situation. There was a br...

Re: interior courtesy light, 63 spyder convertible
There should be a hole in the under dash frame to insert a screw the bracket in place. The light sits up behind the dash shining down. Be careful to bens it up. I scratched my hand on the corners when using the E-brake handle. Test the socket first to make sure it works. The door buttons often fail...

interior courtesy light, 63 spyder convertible
Can anyone help with a pic or diagram for the mounting of the interior courtesy light for 63 spyder convertible? There is a loose wired socket (no bulb inserted) tucked up near the handbrake. Clark's sells the mounting bracket itself, but it is not obvious to me how it attaches. I've had the car sin...

advice on weatherstripping??
I'm in desperate need of replacing the weatherstripping on the quarter side windows of my 1963 Spyder Convertible. There's a metal trim piece that has one screw keeping the metal trim together and that looks like it is holding in the weatherstrip. After removing the screw, the entire thing is still ...
