Re: WTB 62-64 Convertible Pillar Weatherstrip
I bought a pair from Steele Rubber Products. A little pricey, but met the need.

Re: Bucket Seat Replacement
I went with Procar seats. I then had them upholstered in red Clark’s matching vinyl (I didn’t replace the back seat). I think they turned out pretty well.

kelsey hays wire wheels, tire/tube protection
I previously saw on the forum a discussion regarding a "tape" or some kind of gel or material that you could put on the inside of your wire wheels to keep them from either leaking air from the tire (if tubeless) or from rubbing or pinching the tube in the tire. Of course I now can't find t...

Color of Engine lid latch
I am repainting the underside of my 64 Monza engine lid and want to know if the latch unit was originally the body color or just clean metal? Mine is currently the body color, but I know the car has been repainted once. I want to try to take it back to original. Thanks,
Rod

Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month SEPTEMBER 2017
Here is my submission for Corvair of the Month. It is a 1964 110 hp Monza Convertible. It has been in my family since 1964!! It was purchased by my grandfather in '64 for my mom to drive to school. (The last picture is my mom with the Corvair at that time.) It has been repainted once, but the origin...

Re: Can black convertible top rear binding be "painted" or dyed?
Ok. Thanks. I was afraid I would affect or loosen the top itself if I removed the staples. I may go that way.

Can black convertible top rear binding be "painted" or dyed?
My 64 black vinyl convertible top is in great condition, but the rear binding is showing wear. It has areas that are white. I'm guessing cracked. Can the binding be painted or dyed? If so any suggestions on product?
Thanks

Re: New fuel pump
I thought about that. However, I am pretty much a mechanical novice and had to get a new pump because I had taken the original apart when I decided to clean and repaint the engine compartment. When I put the pump back together it didn't work because I had left it apart too long and dried out the mat...

Re: New fuel pump
Ok thanks Brad. I knew it was probably a goofy question, but I'm one of those guys that like things to all match.
Thanks for the info.

New fuel pump
This question may be kind of minor, but here it is. I just received my new manual fuel pump from Clarks. It has a goldish tint on the top of the pump. My original was the stainless steel color, matching the fuel lines and other motor accessories. Is there a way to remove the goldish tint so it match...

Re: Fuel line nut sizes
Thanks guys. I figured that would be the answer. What is the best way to remove the nut in order to replace the fuel line?

Re: Fuel line nut sizes
If I have stripped the 7/16" fuel line nut because I couldn't break it loose, what do I do now? I have buggered it pretty good at this point, largely due to frustration.
Is the nut replaceable without replacing the whole section of fuel line?

Re: Kelsey Hayes wire wheels
I do have the mallet. I just hadn't taken them off before and wasn't sure what it would do. Thanks.

Re: Kelsey Hayes wire wheels
Thanks Nick. That's helpful....any thoughts on getting the hubcaps off without banging them all up with mallet?
Thanks
