Re: Some new questions
Did you use the high temp gasket maker (orange) with thin layer to both sides of gasket?

Some new questions
I am now working on the transmission and transaxle, a few questions though. I saw a video and a guy smeared grease on the gasket between the trans and trans axle, what do you guys think of this and why is it done? I am also wondering if I need to lubricate any of the shafts or the throw out bearing ...

Rochester Carb Air Filters
Does any one know if there are any air filters that fit directly on top of each carb instead of using the factory intake system. If you have a part number and location for this item that would be helpful, thanks.

Dave Motohead Video
Hey guys I am having trouble starting my engine out of the car, I have watched Daves video on how to start it out of the car. The Ballast resistor is heating up, one has melted down. I have power going to the resistor but when I turn it over when testing on the other side of the resistor it is flash...

Re: Some Progress Made
Hey guys hope your all enjoying the summer at the car shows, I have been to four shows this summer and still have not seen any Corvairs. I am looking for two small air cleaners to sit on top of my carbs instead of the factory air cleaner, I have looked on line but have not really found any that will...

Re: Some Progress Made
I was reinstalling the lower shrouds and found that both tabs were broken off that hold the vent door pin in place. I talked to Clarks and they report this is a common thing and said I should use some sealer on the pin end, I came up with something a little better and a permanent solution to this pr...

Exhaust
Hey guys its been a long winter up in Canada, I was able to shake all the snow off my car and get back to work on it. I am going to go with a duel exhaust system on my engine, I am looking at the "ultimate exhaust" from Clarks. Has anyone used this system, are you happy with it, does it so...

Re: Cylinder gaskets
I answered my own question, I thought I only counted 6 rig gaskets when I opened my kit but there are 12. Oh boy I think this is going to be a long build, back to studying books.

Re: Cylinder gaskets
So no gasket needed between cylinder and head, if that is the case I now know why my engine and engine bay were covered in oil. When I disassembled my engine the only gaskets were cylinder to head.

Cylinder gaskets
I was on you tube last night and seen a video of a guy who was using copper gaskets between the jugs and the block, if I am not mistaken I thought the only gaskets that are needed are for the jug to the cylinder head?
