I ordered the bearing puller tool sold by Clarks (in their tool catalog) designed by Russel Davis. I have done four axles without issue.

Re: Ceramic paint on push rod tube and exhaust pipe
My Dad followed Fred Johnsons book and coated the pushrods tubes on his car back in '87. Not certain how much it helped but it is still not leaking 30 years later.

Re: Transmission pan leak!!!
I have not been successful in getting my Clark's transmission pan leak to stop. Just replaced gasket and used some Right Stuff gasket sealers too. Were any of the early pans, circa 1988, known to be less than perfectly flat? I have an old oil pan too that doesn't look as true as it should and haven ...

Re: Battery Draining Fast!
I am having a similar issue. I have a 64 powerglide convertible. I have all fuses and the alternator disconnected. With the voltmeter between the positive battery post and the positive cable, I am getting approx 3.25 drain. It has frustrated me for weeks.

Is there an easy way to remove a defroster knob and put it on another lever?

Re: What is the age range of Corvair Fans? (POLL)
My dad had a '61 4 door when he met my mom in junior college. They got married in '64 and traded it in for a new light blue '64 coupe. I came home from the hospital in that car in 1969. My parents kept the car around and running until I started driving in 1985. I drove the car through high school ...

Re: Engine bay spare tire mount
It is good to have the engine option if you plan to take a trip in the car -- gives you more room for luggage/spare parts.

Pitman arm bushing R&R
I just got mine installed with the nylon insert and it is tight. Do you think it will break in and loosen up with use or do I need to remove it and sand it?

When you say the latch striker, is that the one on the door or on the frame?

Re: New from Lake Chatuge, North Carolina
Small world. My parents who got me into corvairs during my high school years in the 80s, retired very close to you! They live just off 64 and Cold Branch. I was there just last week visiting from Raleigh. We had 7 corvairs at our peak in Texas - - he has the sole remaining one now. We are working on ...
