Re: cylinder head removal

Maybe apply a bit of compressed air into the spark plug hole on #5 (with the piston @ top of the compression stroke, distributor rotor pointing at the #5 wire) and see where the air escapes from.....exhaust, crankcase or maybe even the intake. You shouldn't need to apply much air really.....to tip y...

Re: cylinder head removal

Me personally, when my cylinder head screwed up, I looked at everything and thought "I think I'll regret doing the job in-car" so I yanked the motor. But mine's a turbo, a fair amount more annoying/complicated.

Are you sure yet that it's a valve and not a burned piston?

Re: corvair sellers or buyers

Hi Robert. Where are the cars located? I'm still amazed at how low the prices are for corvairs in rough shape. Still, I think there is usually interest.

Re: Headlight problem

The hot ticket is to install a set of Bosch relays for each circuit, low beams and high beams. It's almost unbelievable to think that these switches are expected to carry all that current for the headlights. There are a number of brands for this, I just picked this Summit Racing item to show. You ca...
