3400 mile 1965 Monza 140
Hello, three months ago I was able to purchase a 1965 Monza with just 3400 miles driven. The car was purchased from the daughter of the original owner. She received the car in 2002. The Monza was last plated in 1967, it comes with full documentation including the dealer order form. It sat idle for o...

Thanks Nate, note in the engine bay pic the original air cleaner decal, paper labels for the PCV valve and generator as well as the original metal foil tags for each carb (date and part number). Also note on the cold air bulkhead fitting the "Engineered by Chevrolet" foil decal. I have see...

The NAPA or WIX filters can be purchased over the counter or "will call" next day with no shipping charges if picked up at store location. This makes them very affordable.

Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month May 2016
Hello all, here is my 1964 Greenbrier van. This van is unique in that it is black/white with delux interior and white painted bumpers. Not many around with this combination. What really sets this van off is that it is original, unrestored with just 38,000 miles since new. It is a 110HP with 4-speed....

looks like wrong heat range. I would stick with the current OEM service replacements available at NAPA all day long. Picture of my 63 Monza original plugs and current replacements. Note the tip length. Good day, pete

Re: Type of engine oil
You can use any good quality "modern oil" for your car, I use Pennzoil in all my classics including the air cooled ones. I used NAPA filters, made in America and on the shelf new. Remember to change oil every 3000 miles or 6 months. The "cheapest" and most beneficial thing you wi...

Re: Ignition switch options
I have been "maintaining" original classics for over 30 years. My experience with NOS and REPO parts has led me to always use NOS/OEM parts or rebuild the original. Most original electrical switches/components can be disassembled on a bench, cleaned and put back together. I have done this ...

Re: Today I drove my Corvair to...
Took the "new" Monza out today for a drive in northern Arizona. Went up to the ski area (snowbowl) to check out the fall colors and enjoy the 55 degree fall weather. Parked the car at the 9200 foot elevation, car ran excellent all day long, no problems up here at all. At 9000 feet the 102 ...

Re: Tire Specs
I went to Discount Tire, and they got the Maxxis for me for their cost, no shipping cost either. They beat all the supplier prices by far. These tires are excellent "modern" tires, look good, drive well and the speedometer is dead on. Good enough for my "Lambrecht" 63 Monza.

Re: 65 VIN/Trim Tag de-code
Thanks guys, I appreciate the response and information. Also note on the VIN plate what appears to be a date stamp (7.25.65) with the characters individually struck next to the "DD". Anyone seen this before? Maybe a dealer delivery date to customer? Thanks and good day. Pete Northern Arizona

Re: 1965 Corsa Coupe Turbo — $39,500 — Worth It?
This is a very nice car, if its as advertised I would take it over a comparable restored example. They are only original once, sometimes you have to pay for this, even with the "aged patina" included. Good day, pete
