Re: County98's Learn as I Go Thread

I just put them in as the quieter option, out of the box. I agree on them being restrictive though.

Re: County98's Learn as I Go Thread

yes sir. The tips hit far enough forward on the bell that they're always in contact, regardless of the angled part. I'm kind of working off the assumption now that since I installed new trans and rear motor mounts, I have no "sag" yet whatsoever. I may mess around tomorrow with putting a c...

Re: County98's Learn as I Go Thread

That's an option also maybe. Just not sure why mine seems tight, equal on both sides, etc., but too tight to body. They must have sold hundreds of kits, not sure why I'm tight to body on both sides.

Re: County98's Learn as I Go Thread

Agree on the baffles. I'm doubting the glass packs will stay long, but we'll see.

Regardless, if I do custom later, I can still use the cutouts. What I'll probably do is take a bat and try to roll those openings a little, try to drop down the back of the motor slightly, or maybe both.

Ultimate Exhaust

Headers clamped up fairly well, won't know about leaks until I get her fired up though. Little finicky, would be easier with an extra set of hands. Centered tubes and slowly tightened all 3 retainers up in stages. 20ftlb, then 25, and left them all at 35ftlbs. Come with castle nuts, no washers. Clam...

Ultimate Exhaust install

Here's what comes with it. Template for cutting shrouds (which I'm leaving off for now, so skipped that), packings, baffles, collector gaskets, and hardware. Parts.jpg 140 packings are dual beveled. Packings.jpg Friction fit barely on exhaust tubes, into the exhaust tube "dishes". Tubes (2...

Clark's Ultimate Exhaust

Still haven't finished bending the fuel feed line, but had a couple hours to kill, so bolted up Clark's header kit. Not rocket science, but I really couldn't find any good pics of what to expect, so here you go. Painted last week. They come bare metal with a can of paint (Cali thing I guess). I didn...

I just got around to re-reviewing your thread. Awesome job man. Massive amount of work and I'm jealous of your paintjob, lol. Nicely done sir.

Re: Alternator swap?

Agree with above. Not sure what you're planning to run, but that seems like overkill. I upgraded to the 63a 3 wire and still upgraded my main power feed from battery to fuse box. It should be enough to run the whole car nicely, plus accessories and an Amp for stereo. Car stereo guys talk about upgra...

Re: County98's Learn as I Go Thread

I just searched Amazon for "Parker 2GF-4"
and "Parker 2GF-5". Popped right up and I have a 10pk of each in my cart, just in case.

Flipped fuel lines

Flipped and tightened down the fuel lines. The green stuff on the threads is Gasoila soft set fuel/oil pipe dope. I know it's not SUPPOSED to be needed on flare fittings, but with 13 fittings in the engine compartment, I figured a little insurance wouldn't hurt. Gasoila.jpg Passenger Side: Pass SIde...

Re: County98's Learn as I Go Thread

Yes sir. It's the stock tube from the turkey roaster, I just cut it down. That half is still stock, small orifice is piped to the crossover tube near firewall.

On a side note, I don't have the turkey roaster clamp and Clark's is out. If anyone has an extra laying around, PM me please?
