hi,remove the sump,the gear protrudes in to the sump area.remove the valve covers and slacken off all the rokker adjustments until all are slack.make up a steel bracket to bolt to one of the sump bolts nearest the gear,place a magnetic dial gauge on to the bracket and dial gauge on to the cam gear.t...

hi ozjavlin,welcome to the forum.it sounds to me that you have a worn cam gear,wont let you down,but will get noisier with time.it is less noisier when cold because the oil is thicker when cold,what milage has the motor done?anything arround 80 000-100 000 miles would require a new aluminium gear.un...
