Re: Rear Motor Mount
No need to disconnect anything, you’re just going to lower maybe 2 inches.

Re: Backup Lights Always On
I had one stick on years ago. I removed it and was able to get the plunger freed up on the switch.

Re: 3.0 liter Corvair Buggy motor with possible ring issues
Looks like that engine was possibly never run. It might just need a proper break in.

Re: 3.0 liter Corvair Buggy motor with possible ring issues
The lower compression is on #5, but the smoke at #1. Perhaps the engine isn’t broken in at all if it was never installed.

Re: Buyer beware
Seems here the buyer had two bad experiences, but never contacted Jeff for a resolution. Yes, it takes time to contact someone. But I would give the vendor a chance to correct the problem before posting something here (or elsewhere). I would add I have had good experiences with California Corvairs a...

Re: Fast XR700 E-Ignition Questions
I am upgrading to the XR700 as well. I found a new one at Summit Racing. It did not have the correct sensor mount for our distributor, but I found that at Lethal Performance and ordered it. I had one of these when they were under the Crane name on a previously owned Corvair and it worked flawlessly....

Re: Aluminum or stamped steel oil pan?
I used the Clark’s pan for two reasons: 1) Oil drain at rear of car, and 2) 5 quarts even for an oil and filter change.

Re: 1966 140 secondary carb linkage
Hi All I have had the rod arm slip a couple times and what I found was the clamps were not tightened enough. Maybe I need to change steel alloys. Out of 800 linkage kits I have made I have only had 7 reports of slipping clamps. Aside from welding or Knurling any ideas on how to stop this. Both of t...

Re: Project Creep
Yeah, I saw that post Ken and I said me too! I'm trying not to get carried away with stuff while its out, but you can add polishing the fan to the list. I can't justify a nashfan, but I might be able to swing an airflow pulley. My car looks like a bit of a beater, but when I open the engine compart...

Re: We TRIED to Help CORSA Fix the Serious Issues with The Corvair Center Forum – Read Our Letter and Their Response HER
I’ve noticed new posts at the CCF have dropped dramatically. As much as I have supported CORSA in the past, they remind me of big government or a giant megacorp after a merger. The customers and often employees get screwed.

Re: Fuel gauge issue
Unplug the sender wire. Gauge should read Full or beyond. Ground the sender wire and the gauge should dread empty. If it passes these tests, the sender is bad or the float is sunk. If it fails these tests, you have a problem with the gauge, wiring, or ground.

Re: Hi Guys! CCF rejected me, got room over here?
With the direction CCF is going, I think I will enjoy this site more. What direction is that? I mostly come here for my Vair stuff. A lot of politics since CORSA took over the site. I’m not here to bash CORSA, but they are “fixing” things that were not broken, removing moderators and stuff like tha...
