Re: Found an O in group 4!
Notched, it does, but I had a guy tell me they thought it was cut out later. I am a newbie, and don't really know what I'm looking at. That's what got me interested in decoding the tag. I really only wanted a convertible when I bought it, so the engine doesn't mean much to me one way or the other. I ...

Found an O in group 4!
I've been reading up on body tags, and found some answers to questions about my Corvair, but it has raised other questions too. I really enjoy looking at these tags, as each car tells you its story.
Here's how I understand the tag which I have attached below. Please feel free to correct me as I'm ...

Great looking car! Wish I could have attended. I really like the wheels. Such a classic look.

Curvesman, saw your previous post. Looks like a nice car! I wish you luck on the drive back. It is kinda like Christmas when that box of parts arrives.curvesman wrote:I can not wait to get my car, so I can order from Clarks! Maybe I will order the catalog before I get the car so I can be prepared!

It's been a good day!
I just received my first box of goodies from Clark's. Just some easy DIY cosmetic parts, but will make this newly acquired 'Vair feel more my own after I put my hands on it. Will also clean out behind the vents when I change out the corsa emblem.

Is this manual any good?
I bought my Vair at the end of December, and have been having a blast driving it on the weekends here in Houston. I had bought a service manual back in the '80s at a swap meet, and haven't seen it listed among the manuals lists in several posts as being a good manual to use. "Corvair Owners Handbook ...

Re: Getting ready to take the plunge
Officially joined Corvair Houston (the local club), and attended my first meeting last week. So glad I did. Very welcoming atmosphere, and genuinely interested in others cars and projects. Also got my CORSA sticker in the mail. Don't know why, but I think those look cool, and was really looking ...

Re: Getting ready to take the plunge
While not super cold like it is in a lot of the country, Houston was in the 20s today. Thought I'd see if the new 'Vair would start. Cranked right up and brought a smile to my face. Also, just from getting some use, the high beams started working, and so did the right tail light. (I thought the ...

Re: 64 Spyder Electrical Issues
You may want to check the ground to your dash since you recently installed a new harness. If that is loose, it would cause the fuel gauge to peg full.

Re: Getting ready to take the plunge
First I'd like to thank everyone for responding to my post. The info was invaluable in my decision to buy the Corsa. It's no show car, though it looks great 5 ft away. The interior is decent, but is original and getting tired. The motor seems to be running great. Speedometer and tach work, other ...

Getting ready to take the plunge
Howdy from Houston,
I've been looking to pick up a Corvair for the last few months. Not sure why the sudden craving hit, but it all started back in the early seventies when I was around 8, my Dad inherited a '65 Corvair sedan. Not sure why but I always loved that car. I loved hearing stories from ...
