Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month March 2017
A wintery picture of my -65 Turbo Corsa. This vehicle was sold new in Sweden and I bought it a couple of years ago.
Notice the licence plate which says how Corvair would be pronounced in Swedish - Kårvär.

FC shifter support
When assembling my shifter rod after gas tank repair I discovered a missing support as seen in the picture below (part # 16). I probably have to fabricate a new support. So the question is:
What material thickness is this support made from and what dimension is the shifter hole?

Re: Rampside wiring?
Thanks Brad. I agree with you, the turn signal switch seems to be the issue. I will try to examine it today and see if it can be fixed, otherwise Clark´s will end up enjoying some more of my Corvair-money.

Re: Rampside wiring?
My problem on my -65 Corsa is the other way around. I have flasher both to the right and left but brake light only on the left hand side. I have replaced the socket and bulb to rule out any failure there. Could the problem be in the turn signal switch itself so it don´t let power go to the right ...

Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month April 2016
Actually it was the other way around. The moose didn´t make it, the Corvair only needed some TLC and a new roof.

Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month April 2016
I like to enter my Corsa-65 turbo coupé. VIN # 510737008416. It´s a Canadian built car originally sold in Sweden in 1965. IMG_1669.JPG IMG_8138.JPG I bought it a couple of years ago and despite an accident with a moose IMG_2298.JPG (the car is now rebuilt again) I have had a lot of fun with this car, ...

Re: Type of engine oil
Oil for cars from the 60´s should be oil from that era, i.e. don´t use synthetic oils but petroleum based oils with zinc and phosphorus additives. That is especially important for air cooled engines like the Corvair where the cylinder heads run rather hot. For filters, Clark´s have reasonably priced ...

Re: Instrument panel
Yes, I know about the aligning holes at the top and the spring clips. However, the spring clips doesn´t seem to attach to anything behind the panel. At the bottom it should be some sort of brackets mounted to the panel as seen in this picture. IMG_2863.JPG Anyway, I have ordered the assembly manual ...

Instrument panel
I´ve replaced the Spyder instrument panel that was in my Greenbrier with the original panel. I do not have the assembly manual so I wonder how it is fastened to the dash. Anyone with info, pictures, drawings...?

Re: Greenbrier examination
Very nice pic Brad. Thanks! "The Greenbrier country", love it. #Cad-Kid - the registration inspection went well but I got some items to be solved before it is "roadworthy", lower ball joints both sides, all brake hoses and clear position light lenses as amber lenses are not allowed in Sweden. I´m ...

Re: Greenbrier examination
Looks awesome, if not feasible. Me think...
Anyway, my Greenbrier project will get a lot of attention as it's sitting just feets away from my airplane, which according to my the rest of my family, has to be finished this year or go to scrap. Tough decision.

Re: Greenbrier examination
That other, really long time, project is a Van's RV-6, a kit plane produced outside Portland, Oregon. When I bought the kit I was a flight instructor at an airline pilot school in Sweden. Later I myself was hired as pilot in one of the airlines in Denmark, flying Boeing 727 and 737, eventually as ...
