Re: Specific Wheel Covers for 1964

Yeah, the Monza center cap is a plastic casting and often found deteriorated. New Old Stock (NOS) replacements are available.
The eBay set seems a good price for a set of used wheel covers, but the shipping sure seems high, IMHO.

How NOT to buy a Corvair - or anything else!

I was asked to provide some local help regarding a Corvair advertised online Which a guy (W.T.) in another country was interested in. He made an inquiry to an ad on USclassifieds4all.com Here is the "sellers" response: Would you like to see more pictures? The car was fully restored 5 years...

Re: advice - how far do I take this?

That has got to be a heart breaker, as well as a wallet buster! The "piston arm" is called a "rod" I'd be a little upset that the mechanic that was first working on the spun bearing did not catch the improper machine-shop work while assembling the engine. That crank throw would r...

Re: Body tag decode

Welcome to the Corvair Forum.
Your Corsa convertible is the top of the line with the optional turbo-charged engine. An estimated number of 2100 of the Corsa convertibles with the Turbo-Charged engine were made in 1965 - a very low production number for Chevrolet.

Ed, it's a spammer.
Just use the "report post" in the upper right (exclamation point) and the mods will handle it.

Re: out for a ride

That's a great photo of two air-cooled flat-6 classics.

Ed Cole was a Beechcraft Bonanza pilot and was of course well familiar with the engines. No doubt there was cross-pollination of engineering ideas because of this.

Re: 1966 500 with NO OPTIONS!

The 1966 Fisher Body ID plate is often devoid of codes that were more commonly seen on 1965 models. The reason is - in 1966 GM made a couple of the former options standard equipment! Padded dash top, 2 speed wipers with washers, outside mirror and inside day/night mirror. A radio with the standard f...
