Re: What ELSE do you drive?
Here's a few of my other "fun" cars. First, my 1972 Luxury Lemans. I bought the car in 1994 as my first car. Now fully restored. This one isn't going anywhere. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/387/18664489623_2513928504_o.jpg And my 1978 Porsche 924 Rallycross Race Car. It's fun to throw a little dirt ...

Re: GULP!
I love the European custom. That car is a perfect combination of function and style. As for the other custom shown you have to remember the era that that car was made. Judging by the picture it looks like a 70's custom when metal flake, larger fender flares, shag carpeting, and lots of fiberglass ...

Re: EM Rear Axle removal.
I used a Pitman Arm puller and some heat on mine. Worked great.

Re: HEADERS
You can move the rear of the extractors outward a little so they exit past the rear grille not under it. I wonder if the recent extractors are different than what you show as well. Did you cut the ends off? The small pipe system like you show has the ends rolled in not cut off like your picture ...

Re: Engine removal success and failure. I need some help!!!
Dave, I need one of those! I don't need a repeat of what I did yesterday. Send me a PM with how much you would want for one. Will that attach to a standard floor jack? You don't have any plans for those engine stands do you? Or do you sell those as well?

Engine removal success and failure. I need some help!!! Long
Well it was a long day in the garage today with some good progress and a few setbacks on my '62 coupe. I wanted to remove the drivetrain to clean it up, clean up the engine compartment, and fix a bunch of leaks. Here is what I learned. 1. Some people should not be allowed to work on cars. The ...

Re: Looking at my first Corvair. Help!!!
Brad, thanks for the link on the mirror. I ordered a set of catalogs from Clarks to start shopping :)
Bowtie, it's a 4spd. That was one thing that I was insisting on.
I'll post some more pics when I get a chance this weekend.

Re: Looking at my first Corvair. Help!!!
Well we bought our first Corvair tonight. We went and looked at a 1962 Monza 900. The body was truly 99.9% rust free. I could only find a little surface rust in a few spots in the trunk and engine compartment. The wheel wells, rockers, door jams, etc...all perfect. Just what we were looking for. The ...

Re: Looking at my first Corvair. Help!!!
I hear you on the rust thing. I've got a lead on EM that is supposed to rust free but we'll see. I was going to go look at this '66 near Rochester, MN but after asking for some pics of the rusty areas I think that I'm going to pass and keep looking. Given my past experience I think that both of ...

Re: Looking at my first Corvair. Help!!!
Sorry I'm a little late in replying to this. But I really do appreciate all the help and advice. I just wanted to follow up on a few things. First, Bowtie I'm located down in Burnsville. We usually hit most of the big shows every year but only put the Pontiac in the Car Craft Summer Nationals. We ...

Re: Looking at my first Corvair. Help!!!
Bowtie, Thanks, that's what I was afraid of when he mentioned that the fenders have some "mud" in them. If it works out for us to get up there maybe I'll take a look but I don't think that we'll go out of our way. I think this is going to be much more than I want to take on right now. I've been ...

Looking at my first Corvair. Help!!!
Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum and looking for a little advise. My wife and I are looking to get our first Corvair and I've found a potential candidate. I'm fairly new to Corvairs but I do have a little experience working on 1964 Monza Spyder Convert for a friend. We loved that car and that's ...
