Re: 78 Camaro internally regulated Alternator Swap
I used a 10SI off an 87 Chevy Silverado. It is an 80 amp alternator. I ran my sense wire to the buss bar I put on the firewall. And my dtc lamp wire is hooked up to the connector on the alternator. It works great. I have EFI and a decent set of tunes, and I am never left needing any power. It ...

Re: Fast EFI Corvair?
I am not so much caught up on port as I am the amount and size of injectors with most of the recent 4bbl TB setups. All of them were made to support the air and fuel needs for a mild to wild performance V8. The older Holley TBs, with the injector pods over the tb inlet only fired the Primary ...

Re: Fast EFI Corvair?
I have not done a 4bbl throttle body per say, but I have installed Holley EFI to run my fabricated setup. I think with a full blown 4bbl setup you going to be putting some work into it to get the very least out of it you can. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll254/DAVECS2/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG ...

Re: EDIS Revisited?
The fabrication I was alluding to was in your second sentence. I like the EDIS system, don't get me wrong. Just saying you can drop in a distributor and mount a box, as an alternative.

Re: EDIS Revisited?
Could get Seth's box and run an ignition box like the Grid from MSD. That way you can do boost referenced timing and what not, not a whole lot of fabrication, and can be configured to limp home in the event of a failure.

Re: older electronic ignition and timing question
That is pretty cool, someone has retrofitted your vair with a chrysler electronic . Definitely a choice piece and should give you great performance for years to come.

Re: Flywheel noise
I have a post on here somewhere, basically I had all the bad flywheel and clutch symptoms. I looked at parts piece by piece, but my end goal was to put some miles on this car. In the end I went ahead and ordered Clarks deluxe kit. Seems pricey, but you get directions with all the tips and tricks ...

Re: Corvair Alternator Conversion or Alternator Upgrades
This is definitely a good upgrade. Many things just work better with good power. Starter, lights, ignition, radio etc. I managed to get an old non working corvair alternator and mount for 35 dollars. Then I went to the local auto parts store and got the alternator for an 87 Chevy pickup for about 60 ...

Re: Long distance....
I did Hot Rod Power Tour this year, and I believe we drove through the Blue Ridge area. The car was absolutely a blast on those small curvy roads. Like it was made for it. I was giving many newer cars a run for their money:-) It took me the better part of two months to prepare as my car was a 15 ...

My Corvair Power Tour 2014
Man I had a great Power Tour this year. Me and my buddies made it the whole way! And it went pretty well even with the over abundance of cars. Rex Glover and his dad, my dad, Allen Pumklin, and Chris Dolan. Did the whole thing from NC to Wi Knoxville stop over on the way down http://i290.photobucket ...
