Re: Having Trouble Identifying Clutch Pedal Part
I looked at the Clarks Catalog but didn't see what I need. Looking at the page that 64powerglide posted, I need the base bracket that the pivot pin protruding from the side of the clutch pedal actually is inserted into. From the looks of things, its one solid piece that bolts up to the car under the...

Having Trouble Identifying Clutch Pedal Part
Hey all, Had a scary moment the other day. While driving down the road and upshifting I went to press the clutch and the pedal just gave way and came loose from it's pivot mount. I managed to power shit to limp to a parking lot but the damage was done. After a good look at it, the pivot point (the h...

Re: '65 '500' sedan project from the dry Central Valley, CA
Do yourself a favor and get an old inner tube (if you can find one) and make a double layer gasket to go under that fuel pump. Mine is mounted much like yours and MAN can you hear it. It's on my list to get something under it so that it doesn't make you think it's gonna shake loose! I guess if you'r...

Where did you get the plug wires? Were they specifically for the Corvair?

Re: EM Door Handle Spring failure
Took the door apart last night and found that the loop spring inside the remote control mechanism had snapped. Went directly to Clarks to see what they had to solve the problem and, while they do carry the repair spring, after a little research I found that to tear the mechanism apart, replace the s...

EM Door Handle Spring failure
Recently my driver's side door handle has stopped Springing back to center when I open and close it. Does anyone have pictures or diagrams of what the spring mechanism looks like? Are they prone to failing or breaking, or might it just come out of it's tracks? I'll have the door cards off soon to do...

Re: The inevitable happened.
Yup.. Most of my driving is in-town driving, so Ya. I get it. I'd be interested in the instructions as Brad mentioned to see what it would take to convert.
Would have to wait till after my upcoming project though - Sound/Heat proofing and new carpet & headliner.
:-)

For someone that isn't in the know - What are the benefits of a hydraulic clutch?

Re: Remove and Re-install headliner?
@terribleted. The headliner that is in the car now was installed about 3 years ago and I'm pretty sure it was from clarks. Since it's not very old, that is why I was wondering whether it could be re-used. I'm going to be ordering a new carpet kit so may just check into what a new headliner will cost...

Remove and Re-install headliner?
I'm very likely going to install some sound deadening and heat shield in my 64 Coupe soon. I have a nearly new and very good headliner in the car that was installed by the previous owner. I was wondering if I can remove the headliner, install the shield pieces and then reinstall the same headliner -...

Here ya go. This was taken in a completely dark garage. You can see the difference between full brightness and dimmed.

Re: What is the light bulb number for dash lights
When I redid my dash I ordered from SuperBrightLEDS.COM - I ordered the green to give it that vintage look and what before was a dying fire-fly is now a bright vibrant green. I used their vehicle search and every one of the bulbs fit as expected. https://www.superbrightleds.com/vehicle/1964-chevrole...

Re: Jim's 63 Monza Coupe - the Freshening
Jim, I have the same Flarestat flasher switch but, because I have the AC deliver unit mounted under the radio, I positioned it on the left side of the steering wheel. I love this thing as it gives you some piece of mind if you're on the side of the road. It has only happened to me once, but I did fe...

I'm sure others will jump in with the more official Corvair clubs, but on Facebook there is a Corvair Enthusiasts Group

Looks like they have Monthly meetings and are pretty active.
