Re: Custom engine build
Thanks Scott V. and Wyvem for the advice. I found this webpage which shows me exactly what Wyvem is talking about. http://www.blackhawkengr.com/Corvair%20Cylinder%20Head%20Projects.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Looks about right. I found some parts, 140 manifolds machined for ...

Custom engine build
I have skimmed over the threads looking for an engine build similar to what I want to do but have not found anything, I may be wrong. I would like to use 140 manifolds with 3 barrel webers, Offenhauser valve covers, Offenhauser oil pan, roller rockers, magnesium fan, headers straight to glass packs ...

Re: Judson Supercharger
Phayes85...I cannot think of a better reason for you to buy a late model (because L/M's rule) Corvair than to install this supercharger on it. You do great work and you should be driving this supercharger yourself. Plenty of room in a L/M engine compartment for that Judson. As the great debate ...

Re: Judson Supercharger
IMG_0635.jpg IMG_0636.JPG I purchased new composite vanes, bearings, and gasket. IMG_0630.jpg IMG_0627.jpg IMG_0663.jpg I then reassembled the supercharger and placed it on eBay since I have no use for it and would love to see it on someone's Corvair. IMG_0665.JPG IMG_0668.JPG It also comes with a ...

Judson Supercharger
I know this isn't a Corvair project but couldn't find the right place to post it so it here. IMG_0376.jpg Purchased this Judson Supercharger off of Craigslist not knowing exactly what I was going to put it on, since I didn't have a Corvair at the time. I ended up buying a Lakewood and the ...

Re: 1961 Corvair Lakewood 700
Thanks for all the information and tips. I started the car again and let it run for about five minutes and the engine noise did not go away, so i do not believe it is the hydraulic lifter. On another note I did purchase a Judson supercharger and have decided not to install it onto the wagon. After ...

Re: 1961 Corvair Lakewood 700
Thank you for taking the time to decode the information. I will try to take a picture of the cylinder head casting and place it up as soon as I can. Gathering this information is the first step before I start any restoration and makes for great conversation at car shows. Thanks again.

1961 Corvair Lakewood 700
Can anyone help me with this? I want to decode the body tag so I may restore the car back to it original interior and exterior colors. I don't know if the tag will tell me that much. I also would like to know the origination information of the car. Can anyone tell me what year or setup this engine ...

First time classic car and Corvair owner. I am 27 with a one year old and expecting another child in November, so I have been struggling for the past two weeks to post this introduction. I do not have any experience with cars older than 2000, so yes I will have those annoying I don't understand ...
