Thank you all as it turns out the dummy who replaced the starter (that would be me) put the yellow wire to the coil on the R post with the purple wire instead of the S post

I was having trouble getting my "63" to start, It would only catch when the battery was charged to the max. then it would run fine. I felt it just wasn't getting enough pop, changed plugs, coil and reset electronic ignition. Then I noticed the yellow / black? wire had come off the starter post ...

backfire through one carb.
My 63 convertible automatic wants to backfire through one carb when cold. Also, after it warms up and you ease into the throttle it will hesitate and sometimes backfire through the same carb, but if you slam the accelerator down it does not hesitate or backfire. I have changed out that carb with 2 ...

This is probably dumb, but will 140 hp 4 carb heads fit a 110 engine and will there be any advantage, would go to dual exhaust.

I have a 63 monza auto. the car ildes and revs great but when you put it in gear it falls on it's face, sputters and kicks , checked vacum changed coil,checked fuel filters, set timing and points. am at a loss
