Re: Harvey Aluminium flywheel
Well I’m a little late posting pictures of the 10” WEBER” clutch, but here it is. Although there is surface rust on it, this will be removed within the first minutes of use. But I will clean it up regardless. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180109/2a56892bbcfde93aa5d30c7049b135e0.jpg On the back...

Re: Decal placement
Here’s what I found in the 65 Assembly manual
It may be upside down but you can see where the decal is positioned for 10100,10500 and 10700 engines

Re: Harvey Aluminium flywheel
This brings up the Aluminum 10” WEBER clutches, of which I’ve only ever seen 2! One went into my 140 Corsa (sold to a guy in Tulsa, Ok in 78), the other one is on my shelf. It does however utilize the HD pp of the 140&180. Pictures later today. Ken Hand has designed and produced a duel disk clut...

Hey new Corvair guy!! If you are close to Wichita, get in touch with Terry Kalp or Ned Madson. They are major influences in the club there!Ned is in Darby, Ks. Terry is in Valley Center just N of Wichita. Terry will be hosting a Corvair “tuna” in February. Sent from my iPhone using Corvair Forum mob...

Re: Where to buy an engine?
Where are you located. A local club member may have a 140 they will part with. Or someone close could build you one. You may also get the correct block date build for your 65 Corsa.

BackMotor Funny Car
Good story. My older brother and I were drag racing in the late 60s. Started out in door slammers. A 69Z28 we called Goofy Grape was his purple car and was the last one before we went to a econo rail front motor car. He eventually went on to top fuel with his friend. I crewed with them but got tired...

Re: Crank concern
The hardening is only .005 deep. When a crank is turned, that hardening is lost. Of course it depends on what you will be doing with your car. If it is a daily driver or a Sunday driver, use the crank you have. All the LM 8409 cranks are forged and are plenty stout. Sent from my iPhone using Corvair...

Re: Saved my son’s first car
I’ve looked at your pictures and it looks like a small explosion. But unless you are going for a total stock restoration, there are other seats that will fit, are more comfortable and cost not much more, depending on what seats you choose of course, than repairing and recovering the seats you have. ...

Re: Center console builds
If you re-read the original post, he says he wants to “make a custom center console”. From that I would surmise that he is needing information and help in designing one, not information on where to purchase one. Due to a time crunch while finishing up my 68 Monza, I opted to purchase one from Calif...

Re: ARTICLE: The V-8 Corvair Every Chevy Guy Dreams of Building
Although this v8 Corvair is very well executed, it is no longer my cup of tea. Built one in 1973. The Crown tradition is there with the Saginaw trans and the cidco rear end treatment along with the old school SBC. The WEBER carbs are sexy looking but that induction system is mid 20th century. That b...

Saved my son’s first car
The front sheet metal will need some attention. But that will need to wait until I get an engine in and running.
