Re: Saved my son’s first car
IMG_5498.JPG IMG_5506.JPG IMG_5539.JPG IMG_5548.JPG IMG_5515.JPG The Corsa is now waiting on an engine. I am wanting to get it running before winter as it has a posi-trac, so it should be good in our occasional snow and ice. BE sure to do something every day on your project. Little things add up ov...

Re: Saved my son’s first car
As with us all, other projects, family and life's issues and events get in the way of our Corvairs! I have not been working on this project ) I have other projects that needed some attention. However, I finished the finder replacement. It was all done in my rear driveway, like my '65 Corsa convertib...

Scott, I believe Dan was thinking of the FWD impala. I haven’t done it but it seems that it would be similar to a 3800 swap.

Re: It's still just a Chevrolet.....
Thanks for the education 64, but if you have weak springs and worn out lifters, doing an adjustment running might make “quiet things down” but it will not perform to its potential. It is putting a bandaid on your problems. Vairguy, “everyone knows”. Is the myth, If the novice learns the correct way ...

Re: It's still just a Chevrolet.....
Thanks Tommy, well said! I’ve been trying to get the “adjust them running” myth debunked for many, many years! I try to explain that, at the factory, Chevrolet does NOT pull the valve covers off after the engines are assembled! There is not a team of workers at the end of the assembly line to adjust...

Saved my son’s first car
A short update and a change of plans! Got a call that a member of our local club was parting out a 4dr. Turns out its the same car I got the rt front fender off of to fix my 65 Corsa convertible a few years back! A big “thank you” goes out to Richard and Dave for their help IMG_3190.JPG My plan was ...

Re: The Audacious V8 Corvair
Dry ice is a bit scarce, read expensive, here. However, a heat gun and a putty knife works. Just takes some time. I think you will also find the some of the goop has dried out and thus it will easily flake off in places! Good hunting. As some say, “Your mileage may very”. Sent from my iPhone using ...

Thanks 66vairguy! That is so awesome! They would certainly be easier to repair if damaged.

Didn’t say they didn’t exist, just that I’ve never seen one.
Coming to your club meeting would be a bit inconvenient from where I live. But I would love to visit some day. But for now a picture would be appreciated

Been around Corvairs for 50 years. Preferring and collecting Corsas of both years. I’ve never seen a stamped steel glovebox surround.

Re: Air Head - Not Sure How to Title This One
A simple test for your valve seats, before you install them, is to lay them on your workbench combustion chamber up and fill the combustion chamber with water or alcohol, like you are measuring cc’s Let them sit a few hours. If they don’t leak water or whatever you’ve used, the wont lead pressurized...
