Re: 63 Monza on the road after 51 years sitting idle

Great looking car, I'm glad to hear it turned out well. You might contact the Communique, they might be interested in hearing the rest of the story (there was an article on the auction back when it happened).

Re: 16 inch IROC wheels

Would 16" rims from a 95 Trans Am fit on a 67 monza without difficulty? As I recall (I had a 94 Z-28 a few years back) the 93 and newer F-bodies (camaro and firebird lines) have drastically different backspacing than the older GM rear wheel drives do... and I mean seriously different! Don't sh...

Re: Pertronix Ignitor?

To answer the timing question - as long as you're using the stock distributor, generally you should set the timing at the same point. The electronic units are only supplying a spark, the advance curve comes from the distributor.

Re: What size wheels will fit an FC?

The intereference point on the FCs is the tie rod end. As long as you keep the overall diameter close to stock, yes, they will take a larger wheel/wider tire, a 225 definitely fits. I have not really looked at FCs in detail, but you can get some helpful info from my wheel/tire page - http://autoxer....

Re: New with 65 Corsa Conv. Turbo and 2 quick questions

In '65 there was a difference in the shifters - the 3 speed is quicker, believe it or not. Most likely your shifter has one or more of the usual things worn or missing - tube bushings, coupler, and the pins in the shifter base. Re: corbeau seats

I put a set of Corbeau seats in the '65 quite a long time ago with their universal mounts, I was very happy with them. We recently adapted some knock offs to the wagon that came with a bench, see my seat page for photos on that. You could use the same system to install seats if you wanted to. http:/...

Re: LM dash pad removal

Yes, there are studs on the pad frame that go through the steel dash. Depending on year, you may have to work a bit to get it past the windshield to get the pad out. I'm pretty sure you'll need to remove the gauge cluster and glove box to get at the nuts.

BTW, a 3/4" 12 point socket fits that square head perfectly.

Re: 2010 Virginia Vair Fair

If you missed it, this year's Vair Fair was a good one - great turnout, nothing went horribly wrong, and the weather was outstanding! Seemed like everyone had a good time. We'll see everyone down in the Tidewater area next year!
