May want to check out the engine harness as well. I always replace this one since it's at least cooked and brittle if not hacked into. If you replace the voltage regulator I would go with the cheapy solid state from Clark's or an NOS delco. Last one's I had fail I replaced with $60 ones from local ...

When replacing the lines the best way is to cut the steel line right at the tubing nut and use a 6 pt socket to get the nut off. If only trying to replace the hoses a good line nut wrench is the only option and hope it works ! May have to remove the hose and put it into a vise to get the fitting out ...

The early steering wheel is actually a hard rubber that is painted - that's why they show black when worn. Not sure if late steering wheels are the hard rubber or plastic - all have a metal ring inside. The cracks can be filled with epoxy putty, then prime and paint. Don't use epoxy paint - tried it ...
