It was in pieces but I have mostly put it back together. I am missing the headlight unit though...

Re: Temp light on at idle
Looks like I was too quick to celebrate. Once the car warmed up the oil pressure light came on at idle again, I started losing power and couldn't get the car above 55mph. Then it started overheating and the noises started. Pulled over immediately and left the car on the side of the road until after ...

Re: Temp light on at idle
Thanks to everyone for the help and ideas. I replaced the oil pressure switch today and cured the dash light issue.

Re: Temp light on at idle
The new alternator bracket came with a new switch installed. Today I am picking up the oil pressure switch socket and I will put my old switch back in to see if that helps.

Re: Temp light on at idle
This is the first time this has happened. I just converted to an alternator over the weekend, not sure if that has anything to do with it. There were no odd noises when the light came on but I have noticed occasional shuddering when turning off the car lately and the idle does seem a little low. I w...

Re: Temp light on at idle
It's a 1964 110 pg. Could it be a low pressure issue?

Temp light on at idle
What would cause the temp light to come on at idle but go out as soon as rpm's are increased? This happened driving to work this morning. I pulled over and the belt is on and all appears to be ok. Then the car wouldn't start for about 10 minutes, just cranked. But started right up after 10 minutes w...

Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month July 2016
1964 monza sedan, 110HP w/pg. I have owned this car since December 2015. I have had the carbs rebuilt and added a set of vintage Mitchell trombones, added my Thule roofrack with bike racks for carrying mountain bikes(it also works for carrying lumber, plywood and drywall) and a front S-10 spoiler. I...

Re: manual choke cable in a '61
Thanks Brad, I removed the original cable today with no issues. The new cable is close to 3 feet longer so I guess it will get cut down once I have it run through the car (Clark's does note that the cable is longer). It also looks like I need to fab a new mounting bracket where the knob mounts under...

Re: manual choke cable in a '61
I haven't really considered upgrading to the automatic choke yet. I sent the 61 carbs to Wolf for a rebuild and those are ready to go and I have a new choke cable from Clark's. I use the choke knob on my motorcycle every morning when I start it so I am not worried about needing to use the choke. I a...

manual choke cable in a '61
Now that it's getting cold, I need to replace the choke cable on my '61 and also put on my Wolf rebuilt carbs. I'm currently running '62 carbs with no choke hooked up and it's getting harder to start. Anyone have any tips on replacing the choke cable? I have a new one from Clark's on hand.

63 102HP engine value
I have someone interested in the 102 engine out of my 63 parts car. The engine ran when parked(the car was hit and totaled 2 years ago) with recently replaced push rod tube o-rings. It is currently mated to a 3 sp but the prospective buyer wants to mate it to a pg in a 65 vert. First of all, will th...

Re: Charging issue
I did not polarize it, but it wasn't a new generator, I swapped it off my parts car. The car still seems to run well, it just keeps draining the battery.
