Re: VanMans '63 Corvan (Sancho)

ouch! I have never broke an axle, just snap u-joints with the old rampy. I would check out the other side axle really close, when the divers side goes it usually takes out the speedo cable so watch out.

Re: first time

Congrats on your purchase, glade to see another FC in Missouri. I am right down the road from you Dynoguy during the week days, Iris road and 71. I had my eye on that van for awhile, it was really straight and rust free for being in the mid west. Here is a picture that the guy sent me a few months a...

Re: Praise the lowered...!

I have gotten hung up on the adjuster collar clamp many times, sucks....usually kicks it out of gear. If I hit a bump just right the lower control arms gets blasted. Its still a blast to drive, even though I do slow it up on some routes.

Re: Praise the lowered...!

Yeah I can say that I have sat in many 64 and 65 greenbrier's in fields and never payed attention to the shifter. Just last year at a car lot/mechanic shop sat 2 64' vans both being manual tranys. Went to go see them last night after work and the pair was gone. I should of swooped them up when I had...

Re: Praise the lowered...!

The other FC's around me are 61's so that wont do us any good. Maybe someone can find a picture for us to compare.

Re: Praise the lowered...!

Well you see the shifter rod "tube" that is attached from the shifter linkage to the trany on a manual FC happens to be the lowest point on the truck. Bad things can happen! I guess you could make a skid plate and let it just rub the ground all the time. This summer I will be adding a skid...

Re: Hello from the Midwest

Nice I have not yet seen plastic yet. I know of a few stingers with fiberglass. Great way to get rid of those unwanted pounds but yet not losing the great styling of the late model.

Re: Praise the lowered...!

The winter here in Missouri is still going strong and I have really not been able to the truck out to take some great shots. http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz228/kingturbo63/Vair/Snowramp.jpg?t=1265037913 Well the weather did clear off some, but now we are back to the crap weather here in Misery...
