Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month March 2016

I would like to submit our 1966 Corvair Monza convertible for the C-O-M. It is a CA & AZ car, Aztec Bronze exterior, Bronze interior, black convertible top just like the trim tag indicates. It is a 110h.p. 4 speed, I rebuilt the engine in 2015, 60 over forged pistons, etc. New h.d. flywheel, clu...

Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month January 2016

Hi, How do you 'vote"? This is where to "Enter" but I don't see anywhere to "vote". Is there a different link to vote or where are the radio buttons to vote?
Thanks

Re: Oil leak

I have also about had it with the leaks, old stock pan or new Clarks aluminum pan. Tried many different gaskets, with and without a little dab of Red RVT. Put a straight edge everywhere and seems to be ok. I use the thread locktite and torque to proper specs. New O rings (and lifters) so those don't...

Ron, hope you are planning on taking it to Portland for the CORSA convention. Definitely the Best of Show winner, maybe Corvair of the Year!
Cheers

@ terribleted. Sounds good, but my wife would have to be gone a full day to do all 8 wire wheel hubcaps. :^}}

Re: Noisy Wheel Covers

From the looks of your hubcaps, they are not the stock 66 wire wheel covers. Probably EM. I had some 63 Chevy Super Sport's that the tabs holding the center piece were not bent over and it made the same racket. Either that or the screws are not tight that hold the center piece together. Re floating,...

Re: Tuning/adjusting idle with vacuum gauge

I found this on a hotrod forum. "One of the more overlooked tools for engine diagnosis is a vacuum gauge. It can quickly and easily identify internal engine problems, but many people don't have a clue how to use one. And that is the purpose of this article, to clear up the mystery surrounding h...

Re: '66 Restoration

Amazing. Love the new windshield! Both of mine are well worn.
We are on our way to Kalamazoo for the convention then on to Ann Arbor to visit with the kids/grand kids.
Love to see the car when we get back.

Re: Tuning/adjusting idle with vacuum gauge

Summit Racing has some good video's on tuning with a Vacuum Gauge. They are for a Holly carb but the principles are the same for a Rot-chester. Check them out. Idle @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf54Pg9S5ZA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Main Jet @ http://www.youtube.com...

Re: LED's for instrument panel

I have pulled the dash from our 1965 Corsa to take it to be calibrated/repaired. Below are the pictures with labels for each bulb and the depth for each. Yes, the Tach has very shallow depth for any bulbs due to the curved plastic. The picture is a little "busy" but that is the way the Cor...

Looking good. Your dash lighting looks as weak as mine. I may go for LED's if they will fit. I won't know until I pull the dash.
