Corvair 95 front disc question

I’ve been out of the game a while and getting back into 95’s. Years ago I was planning to convert one of my Rsmpy’s to front disc. I bought brackets, hoses, etc for a 1955-68 Chevy full size car. I never took them out of the box. Now I can’t remember the whole combo. What rotors, bearings,, and calip ...

Re: Rampy mods, BIG mods

Scott, I was planning to just add an injector port to the head or use a tube style intake (like one that comes up to run a 4V carb on top) and tat a hole in it. However, that link you sent is an interesting option. I hadn't thought about using the actual carb bodies for the air flow and adding an ...

Rampy mods, BIG mods

Hello everybody. I haven't been on here in a LONG time. I've still got a couple Rampsides a van, coupe and misc parts laying around. I've really been thinking about building my Rampside. I want to go all out on it, serious changes. Here's a list of things I want to do to it. If anybody has done ...

Re: The custom FC info thread.

I'm excited to follow this thread and hopefully add to it as I can. I'm putting around in a 61 Greenbrier daily and have a 61 panel that I call the "Turd" (because of it's color/texture). I don't plan to doing modifications to the Greenbrier (going on CL for sale this week) but I hope to play with ...

Re: Setting the air/fuel mixture

You are correct, they don't have air/fuel mixture screws. I forgot about that.

Re: Setting the air/fuel mixture

I've set carbs by "feel" for years, no exact science there. I used the propane torch method years ago on a straight six engine but forgot about that idea. Maybe I will play with that again. I wish I had somebody locally with a sniffer (smog machine) to actually let me set the mixtures the same at ...

Setting the air/fuel mixture

Ok, fighting with air/fuel mixtures. I have the meter for setting the matching air flow but getting the air/fuel mixture just right is a big difficult. I had planned on doing it with exhaust temps, using a laser temp gun on the exhaust manifold. That works ok for the first few minutes but once that ...

Re: One of my Corvair 95's

I priced it high at the Rod Run, that's just how things work there. For me to actually let it go it would take $4000 to drive it away. Clear TN title in hand.

One of my Corvair 95's

Here's a couple pics of my 61 Greenbrier. It's got a 110HP with alternator and it's a 4 speed. I use it to run errands, pick up parts, etc. I took it to Rod Run in Pigeon Forge last weekend with a price on it but no takers. I guess that means I get to keep it. lol I need to sell it and/or one of my ...

FC tire size

Ebay is running a deal on tires right now. You get $100 off a set of tires that cost $400 or more. I think its time to order tires for the Rampside I'm building. At one point I had measured to see what size I could get away with but now I forgot what I came up with. I've already got the rims, they ...

Re: pushrod removal tool

I used an old push rod tube to make a removal tool. It's a quick easy way to remove the tubes without bending then and it was FREE!

Re: Another dash cluster question

I agree, it doesn't look like the OEM tach (style) but the fit and install look very good. If a person hadn't seen one with a factory tach he could assume it was original. The guy I got it from swore it was factory. Until I showed him a true tach dash he wouldn't believe me. lol

Re: Another dash cluster question

Whoever did the tach install did an excellent job! It's a perfect fit and looks factory. They even kept the factory pointed lense in the hole. The back is not butchered up either. It's just a very nice job. It could pass for a factory setup if one didn't know better.

Rampy options

I ran across this ad on ebay and it says "rare bucket seat option". I didn't know you could get a rampside with bucket seats, I've never seen one with them. While looking at the pics I figured that they just put bucket seats in it when they did the Spyder dash cluster and glove box. The thing I'm ...
