Both tags look to indicate a 62 model.

Re: Bucket Seat Replacement

I might also add that there is a substantial weight savings eliminating the Corvair seats. I have been a stock guy most years, but lately I've realized a lot of advantages with replacing my seating for something newer.

Re: Corvair as a daily driver. Am I insane?

I lost a belt in the middle of the night in Fort Stockton Texas in my 61 Greenbrier coming from Yuma Arizona on my way back to Florida. I lost a harmonic balancer on my 65 Monza Convertible 140, buy luckily that was one of the items that I brought with me on the bus trip out there. I had a clutch go...

Re: Corvair as a daily driver. Am I insane?

That is correct Dave, I was on my back to northern California after visiting the family in Florida. One of eight trips that I have driven a Corvair car or Greenbrier across the country. Starting in Jacksonville, all the way to SanDiego ,and then all the way up to Seattle and back again to Florida. A...

Re: Corvair as a daily driver. Am I insane?

I think that I came that way when I visited you .I was in my Corsa and it was a fun drive. There was construction on the road most of the way. I couldn't imagine doing that daily. Props to you Dave. :tu:

Re: Preparing floor for new carpet

I didn't mean to lead you astray. I thought that I said that Clark's sells the rubber that goes around the vent door to seal the perimeter area. There are definitely no kits to repair the assembly as a whole. If you feel that your vent assemblies are too far gone ,then sourcing used ones in better c...

Re: Preparing floor for new carpet

I don't know if you are aware that Clark's Corvair Parts has rubber available to rebuild the vent assemblies. I have satisfactory results using their products for rebuild. I would be lying to you saying that you could do the job in 30 minutes. However, if you can't source useable ones from your area...

Re: 64 gear oil fill

I have never seen a fill tube for the differential. I have seen an axle check tube ,so that a person can check the fluid level in the differential. I personally would jack the car up and put it up on jack stands and then crawl under and check it at the fill plug with the car being level . Make sure ...

Re: Water leak at kick panel vents

There is a type of sealer that goes around the outside of the perimeter of the outside of the kick panel vent. It is similar to plumbers putty or dum dum? I always remove the vent assembly and clean out the area behind it and check for debris. I like to get some por 15 or rust bullet in there for ex...

Re: Beautiful Day for engine removal/PROTEST!

Looks like a manual differential and I can't see if the bottom is machined for the 64 only spring that goes underneath the differential. So it could be wrong in a couple of ways. :dontknow:
