Re: Internal Server Error
  I'm just guessing at the source of these error messages and server time delays. Many users have migrated over from the CORSA website to the Corvair Forum. We are seeing a significant increase in the number of posts each day, and the average number of network server logons at any given...

Re: Melting wires, simple question
:goodpost:  » Wed Dec 20, 2023 4:12 pm Both the FAST and Pertronix systems need a source of voltage to power the electronic module. The most-convenient source for power is the ignition coil positive terminal. Allison/Crane Cams/FAST knew that the voltage available at the ignition coil positive...

Re: Gas smell in cabin but only while driving
I have not found any online collection of Chevrolet News Bulletins, but once in a while I come across one and file a copy on my PC for future reference and to share with others, when a question comes up on the Corvair Forum, like yours, that might benefit from something in my personal "Corvair ...

https://www.chiaragrandin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/doubt-1159639-m.jpg The Pertronix Ignitor II has been known to have some sensor problems with managing a slow idle, such as found with a 6-cylinder Corvair running a Powerglide automatic transmission in DRIVE. I believe the problem appears wh...

Re: Melting wires, simple question
I have a 1964 Monza with a 1968 140hp engine with a simple electronic ignition. The wires are severely melting or have melted, i.e. the wiring harness got hot, there's a short, and the insulation is melting. In fact they are still getting hot. I still have to trace down the problem. In rereading yo...

Re: 1963 Convertible Rear Seat
Hi, my name is Tony. After being out of restoring old rides for 30+ years, I picked up a 1963 Corvair Convertible. Been sitting for 30-40 years. I have been slowly picking away at it since last fall. A lot of fun, really cool cars. Located in Northern Utah. :welcome2: :tu:  Welcome, Tony, to ...

Re: Melting wires, simple question
Fact --- The Pertronix coil catalog says to use a 3.0 coil for ALL six cylinder cars. This is just silly as different six cylinder cars use different coils. The Corvair coil primary is about 1.3 ohms and the ballast is about 1.8 ohms. I did the research through the Pertronix documentation to try to...
