Be grateful she's attracted to the Corvair and not to the Shelby Cobra parked next-door!!! :02: :02: :02: :02: :nono:  :fingerscrossed: :woo: :woo: :popo:

For electrical components, wiring harnesses, etc. you might check out the Corvair Underground catalog, pages G-1 - G-32.

Or contact them at 800-825-8247 or sales@corvairunderground.com to discuss your needs. :helpsos:

Re: LM vs. EM Debate.

Thank you for the positive comments. I agree with your negative assessment of the interior trim and "styling" appointments that Chevrolet :chevy: chose as "hand-me-downs" for the last of the series in 1968-1969. The only engineering improvements "allowed" were man...

Re: Looking to buy 1st Corvair

That is about what I paid for mine. After 24 years in the Air Force and nine years as a computer technician and network administrator I was somewhat forced into retirement by my wife's needs (she is permanently disabled) and by the needs of my 85-year-old father. I really didn't want to buy a Corvai...

Re: Back seat size? Ok for Children? Adults?

I grew up travelling all over California in EM and LM 2-door Corvairs. My sister and I never had any problem in the back seat up through our teen years. My wife and I also drove coast to coast :rallye: in the summer months, usually covering the distance in three days in a 1965 Corvair Corsa 2-door c...

Re: Looking to buy 1st Corvair

You might try contacting South Florida Corvairs, a Corvair club in the West Palm Beach area, if the local club you have been trying is inactive. I know it on the other coast, about 200 miles from you, but they might have some leads that would help you. South Florida Corvairs http://www.corvair.org/c...

Re: Oil leaking out of dipstick now

The engine crankcase was not overfilled, was it? Oil being forced out of the dipstick tube -- never experienced this myself -- would usually indicate excessive crankcase pressure buildup caused by inadequate crankcase ventilation or excessive blowby past a piston, beyond the capabilities of the norm...

Re: Looking to buy 1st Corvair

I certainly understand your hesitation -- especially lacking specific experience with Corvairs. I can only relate to you my own experiences and impressions. When I spotted the blue convertible on eBay there were 55 detailed photographs of that car from all angles, including engine compartment, trunk...

Re: Looking to buy 1st Corvair

To SOFAST - I bought that blue 1966 Corsa convertible in June from Lash Auto Sales in Lakeland, FL, only about 60 miles from you. Besides regular used cars, they sell classic cars too. After I picked up my Corvair Corsa from them, they were selling the burgundy 1963 Monza convertible shown below (do...

Can't believe I failed to catch the name and didn't notice that both posts came from you. I should have noticed with all the same car descriptions! Guess I'm just getting old! But still, I hope you have good luck with your search.

WOW! It has been a lot of years since I had thought of a Corvair-powered Myers Manx. After reading your entry I did a little searching on Google and was surprised to discover that the Bruce Myers-inspired Myers Manx company is still in business! See: http://www.meyersmanx.com/ In 1970, with the burd...

WOW! You've sure got your work cut out for you -- especially with a move all the way from Alaska to South Carolina! I wish you all the best. After 24 years in the Air Force, my wife and I have picked up and moved all over the United States, Korea (twice), Germany and Saudi Arabia, having racked up e...

:welcome2: Gotta love those RED Corvair interiors!!! But a home delivery of your new car by a dealer??? Unheard of! Even a Lexus dealer wouldn't do that (I don't think), but they are pretty good in customer support, customer service, and courtesy vehicles! Maybe a Rolls Royce dealer would do a home ...

Re: Another new guy in VA

Owning/Driving/Maintaining a Corvair is definitely a learning experience! Sometimes it seems to be like peeling back the layers of an onion -- a seemingly never-ending exploration of the unknown. The process can also cause you to cry a lot! It is a good idea to get to know local Corvair enthusiasts....
