Re: 66 Corsa 140 with factory air conditioning

There seems to be quite a few of them out there. There are upwards of 30 of them accounted for. They were only made at Willow Run or LA. Rarest would be an LA build coupe. The LA build convertibles would be the rarest. The number supplied by Dave Newell was 153 produced and this was based on the tot...

Re: Dieseling

Without going through dramatics. I have found the 2 leading causes are idle speed too high OR idle mixture is too rich.
Try lowering the idle speed and/or leaning the mixture out and see how it responds.

Sept. 1965 has 5 weeks.

Re: RB engine code

The build date on the body tag should read (if built in September) 09A, 09B, 09C or 09D.
My own car is 03D and the engine date code is 0324.

Re: RB engine code

I dont have to tell you how valuable and rare that RR code is. That is 66 Corsa with a/c only.
The 0915 RB case is definitely the original engine for your car.
RB is 65 and 66 Corsa 140 only.

I had bought some engines off Mr Goodman several years back and looked at that car. I recognized it as soon as you posted the picture

That has been suggested many many many times. I know I have posted that fix several times but using the correct standard thread size via extra long bolts and lock nuts purchased from McMaster Carr.

Re: Shifting

There is a good possibility that oil has contaminated the friction surface of the clutch disc if its chattering when letting the clutch out and accelerating from a stop. The other possibility is that someone installed some kind of performance disc (metallic, ceramic, kevlar, etc). These tend to do t...

Typically I will use use cutters on a die grinder and do a bowl blend as well as taper the area around the guide down. The flow picks up significantly when you do that.

Re: WANTED: N.O.S. # 993628 RIGHT OUTSIDE MIRROR

$150.00 is either offensive or too funny, not certain which one. That's not a bad price for an NOS one since they typically are snapped up by the Chevelle, Camaro and Nova guys. The $50 reproductions are made off shore....depends on what your priorities are I suppose. But some insist on the origina...

Re: Lifters noise at start up

Dave Motohead and I just talked about this. He lives out in the desert of California and runs 10W30 and it was just 112 there. Thick oil does more harm than good. Just saying.

Re: Lifters noise at start up

15w 40 would if anything be a little thick not thin. Spec is SAE 30 single weight. How often is the car started? if it is making lifter noise on every start and is driven every day bad lifter adjustment or other valve train issues are likely. If they tap for a minute or 2 after the car has not been...
