Re: My 1st Vair - 1965 Corsa 140-4 hardtop

Ironically, if I could change one thing about my '65 140 coupe, instead of red it would be Cypress Green, but at the time it was painted I kept to the stock color. To be fair, I'm now changing lots of things from stock, but back when I had it painted I wanted to be original. The stock '65 color that...

Re: 65 Corsa instrument aluminum overlay...what is exposed?

Just curious...has anyone tried soda blasting to strip the aluminum? If so, did it remove the anodizing? I picked up a soda blaster at Harbor Freight and was going to give it a shot (so to speak) but I'm concerned that I may have to mask the shiny areas before blasting. I do have an extra panel to e...

Re: My 1st Vair - 1965 Corsa 140-4 hardtop

Steve, that's a very cool car. First of all, it's actually Cypress Green, not the light color you see there. Cypress Green is the J-J code on your body tag, and it's a very attractive dark metallic green. My first Corvair was a Cypress Green 140 Corsa coupe with a black interior. Here's a link to my...

Re: pensylvania bondo bucket

unbelievable ! 5" gap on the inside of the pass side rear window frame bridged with mesh and filler.....who does this sort of thing?? :dontknow: it took about an hour to put right The thing I keep thinking is that they put at least as much work into making a fudge pie out of the car as they wo...

Re: pensylvania bondo bucket

Another great repair from a PA professional :dontknow: Un-freaking-believable. The thing I don't understand is how someone could put that much work into making such a piece of crap look that good. How could it possibly been easier than just getting an honest car to start with? I admire your tenacit...

Re: ENTER- Corvair of the Month May 2015

Figured that it wouldn't hurt to add my 68 to this little competition. Donavin, nice to see a Michigan car in the fray. Are you planning on coming to Homecoming this year? I'd love to see your car in person. Also, can you do me a favor and tell me how wide the "SS" decals on your rims are...

Part 10: Wheel pondering and hanging out with Bruce April 18, 2015 Since I last posted I've done some cogitating on what kind of wheels I want the car to roll on when it's finished. The tires have good tread, but they are about 12 years old and overdue for replacement. I think I want to put redlines...
