More refined look...
Update on Operation X.. for the GM guys.. After the transaxle and exhaust change, had time to sit, sip and think. I decided Operation X needed a little more refined (less hacked) decklid.. After ruining 2 lids to try and create my latest idea http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1037008.jpg Cam...

Re: VOLKSWAGNUT Introduction and Hello
Nothing wrong with thinking outside the box and being different... except when you're out numbered at the track... and the masses... start whining.... :nono: Its whole reason most if not all REAL Vw drag events state "Air cooled VW engine based powered" in the rules right up top... Too man...

Re: VOLKSWAGNUT Introduction and Hello
Just to update... a little. Pulled the engine out, due to a known clutch/flywheel issue... I removed the ring from the flywheel, and installed the 6 new bolts, and thinner washers supplied from Clarks... All is well with the disc now.... :tu: It was time to swap the transaxle too...due to syncro iss...

Re: Reversed Rotation 140 inquiry/advice
Is it correct that the center ring "should" come off? yes - but use a thin washer under each bolt. -Scott V. Got it covered... Bought the bolts through Clarks, and he supplied the washers... at no charge.. :ty: Good news on the ring.... :tu: I hope it holds true for this "Hybrid"...

Re: Reversed Rotation 140 inquiry/advice
Here is my delima with my flywheel. Its really more of a Vw flywheel with a Corvair center. The rivots of the solid disc were dragging the crank bolts. Soon to hopefully be corrected. On advice I tried to grind down the crank bolts and disc rivots, but found it still would not correct it my problem ...

It had a little valve clatter, nothing serious, just pumpin up the lifters a little. Not even really loud just noted. Let it fast idle choke on... waiting... wai...
