Re: 1963 Monza 2+2 help!

Hi Roxon.. I'm no corvair guru but: What is a 2+2? I never heard of such a corvair? Does it say that on the car somewhere or did someone tell you that is what it is? Thanks Vapor

Re: Darn Maine laws......

Memphis Tn. just passed a new deal.. Makes me mad. It used to be you just went to the DMV and got your antique plate for any car 25 years or older.. Now with the new law, you have to have it tested for emissions.. Neither of my corsa's convertibles need worry about it because they are already plated...

Re: Missing ATF O/T

Your lucky it was still under warranty.. When the transmission quit in my 88 Jeep Grandwagoneer (727 Torqueflite) it was $2700.oo to have it rebuilt.. That price included new chain and sprokets in the transfer case, since it had to come out anyway...

Re: Spark Plugs. Got me stumped???

I'm sure the problem is cured this time.. All I did was changed it over to Pentronix electronic ignition, put on a new bosch coil and it is running great now.. Why, I don't have a clue????????? But I've been driving it almost every day now with no more problems.. Maybe someone out in Corvairville wi...

Re: Old School Radio..

Did you build that housing? Hi Jason... No that is the way I bought it from ebay.. It is made to bolt to the floor but I removed the top cover, drilled it and bolted it under the dash.. I like it better.. You don't have to look so far down to see volume, tuning or what ever.. It is a powerful unit ...

Re: Spark Plugs. Got me stumped???

I was wrong.. I didn't get to drive it to the cruise in as planned. It rained. First rain in about 3 weeks here in Memphis.. Sunday I drove it to a nice spot to take a few pictures.. It ran out there really great with no problems.. Idle was great at all stop signs and red lights. By the time I got i...

Re: Spark Plugs. Got me stumped???

Up Date: Problem SEEMS to be solved.. I jacked the car up and pulled the valve covers.. I backed off all valves 1/2 turn + 1/8th.. Put the valve covers back on and cranked it up.. The lifters clattered for a few minutes and then quieted down.. Idle smoothed out and sounds like it is hitting on all 6...

Re: Spark Plugs. Got me stumped???

Well to be honest with you, I have not driven the car enough to ever use any oil.. Probably put on 1200 miles since I've owned it.. When I take the plugs out, I see nothing wrong, no carbon or oil on center electrode. The plugs look like they did when I put them in.. I took the pick-up on my timing ...

Spark Plugs. Got me stumped???

Having a problem with my 65 140 Corsa vert.. It is eating a spark plug.. Which one I don't know.. I can put in a new set of plugs and all is fine.. After driving for about 20 miles, it seems like it drops a cylinder.. When it happens, you can hear it in the exhaust at idle. This is the 3rd set in 3 ...

Old School Radio..

I wanted to install an fm stereo into the 65 140 Corsa vert.. But I wanted old school. I mean really old school. Now this is vintage super tuner 8-track fm/stereo.. The tape has been serviced, the fm plays great and the whole deal sounds good.. I kinda painted it to match the interior ta boot...

Re: New guy....with a story (might be long!)

Story wasn't to long.. Good story.. I thought I was the only one who used the old school Duntov 30-30... I recently built a 64 chevy II 2dr. post car with a worked over 350.. I found the old Duntov cam at the super chevy show, new never used and used it.. I like that sound... They can say what they ...

Re: Still painting on the 65..

Came out Vairy nice. Looking good! Thank you Gregory.. One thing the car had going for it was a pretty solid rust free southern body.. Floor pans, trunk, body supports were all great.. People think you have to go to Arizona or California to find solid cars. (which is good, more for me to choose fro...

Re: Still painting on the 65..

tell us more about dying the interior - this is something I am clueless about Hi Scott. It was new to me also,.. I just found out you could do something like that.. Color Match or I guess any automotive paint shop can mix interior dye.. Any color you want or from a sample they can match it.. That c...

Re: Still painting on the 65..

Well the 65 140 Corsa is DONE.. Took longer then I wished but that's normal for me.. I ended up using 5 quarts of white base, 5 quarts of clear.. That was for car, door jams, under hood and under trunk.. The car always had nice interior but it was faded from the sun.. I went to see Charlie at color ...
