Re: Looking for opinion on front spoiler
Mine is currently unobtanium, but is similar to the old Corsa Enterprises spoiler. The car is very stable up to at least 93 (which is where the Wyoming Highway Patrol interrupted my search for maximum velocity).

Do your research and understand the difference between "stated value" and "agreed value".

Re: 65 Corsa instrument aluminum overlay...what is exposed?
In '65, Monza's had gray wrinkle dashes, Corsas had black wrinkle.

Re: Lord's of the Car Hoards Corvair episode backstory
Having done a real nuts-and-bolts restoration, none of these shows come close to a real restoration. What they do is, at best, a refurbishment with maybe a bit of customization thrown in. Nevertheless, I do find most of them amusing.

Re: Glove box replacement
If you want to make the glove box look pretty, flock it. You should be able to find a flocking kit at your local hobby store. If not there, then online for sure.

Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair
Well the lead is not bubbled up and there are no cracks, not one spec of rust anywhere I can find, both front/rear windshield channels are clean,,I am sure not going to pull up the lead and look needlessly and ruin what I consider to be a perfect rust free body! I have cut up enough of these to certa...

Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair
Unless,,it truly never had any rust at all rust free! the pic of the red car is the best one I have ever pulled out of the desert,it has not 1 speck of rust and not one dent,I am sanding it down and painting it,no bodywork required, the orange one has a few parking lot door dings. That's your assess...

My point, exactly, Mr Motohead. "Rust free" is a meaningless description in the Corvair community.

Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair
This thread got me thinking about "rust free" and what it really means. Based on the comments from the various posters, my conclusion is that the meaning is "it depends". I have three low-mileage, LM Corvairs that could be described as "rust free" or "virtually rus...

Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair
According to the last two posters, a little rust is okay on a car that is advertised as rust free? Does "rust free" mean there is no additional charge for the rust? What if I have a car that truly is completely rust free, how do I describe that car? Disclaimer: I don't know any more about ...

Re: Corvair GT -- Facebook
The project is complete (Phase 1, at least -- are projects ever finished?) I just have to get the FB page up to date. Here's a link to a comprehensive description of the project: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xbbhkwis37xhh7e/The%20Corvair%20GT%20Prototype%20Project%203.pdf" onclick="window.ope...

Corvair GT -- Facebook
If any of you do Facebook, I've created a page for my 8-year restomod project. I have several entries already and will be posting more from time to time. Go to https://www.facebook.com/corvairgt and like the page to get new updates as I post them. The page description is: "Mr Redd" is a un...

Re: Building a Corvair GT
The sound system worked out fine, but if I had it to do over again, I'd leave the original AM/FM radio that was in the car. We've driven the car 6K miles and listened to the radio a total of about 10 minutes. Between the engine, exhaust, and wind noise, the radio is just one more noise source -- and...
